Tua Tagovailoa, QB Alabama

Tua doesn't run as well as Steve. If he hadn't had those 3 surgeries in college he would be my top choice at QB but those weren't minor injuries. He never played a full season at Bama so I would be a little cautious about drafting him high.

FWIW, the ankle surgeries supposedly made it better or stronger, forget exactly what they said, but it should be better for the long haul. But yeah like you said it still wasn't minor surgeries.

Pats beat writer Ben Volin thinks Pats could make a move to #3 for Tua. Would need to be creative to make trade happen but certainly possible.

Nah I doubt they do that. Really doubt it. 23 all the way up to 3 would definitely have to involve player/s and picks. Jake Luton from Oregon St. looks like a Belichick type QB. Late rounder Pro style QB with decent arm strength that moves around well in the pocket.

Volin suggested Edelman to Detroit as part of the package. But did mention Hightower or Thuney as alternative possibilities being moved if not JE.

I think Gilmore is another actual possibility, as he is going to want/need an extension soon. He is like the 8th or 9th highest paid at his position and his deal runs thru 2021.

There were rumors the Pats had talked about moving up for Baker in 2018...and Bill needs a new FQB so I would not be shocked if he made a major play to go get one. And he is close to Saban, so he would definitely know all he wants to know about Tua. It also would allow him to get in front a QB needy division rival and potentially take their guy from under their noses.

Perfect! Then we can give them Jimmy back for Tua
Bust written all over it. Way too much hype.

Interesting timing. Dolphins have looked pretty damn good with Fitz.

They can win the AFC East, NE is in transition, the Bills are fools gold (bad defense, suspect run game), the Jets (HA). Bout to make ninerfan4life to look foolish.

Fitz has been playing well. Their next game is vs. the Rams. Sure would like to see a veteran QB like Fitz in there against Donald and Co. Hopefully, with a bye week to prepare, Tua can play well enough to give the Dolphins a chance - would love to see the Rams get a loss there.

Their next 2 opponents are Rams and Cardinals. I swear if they lose cause they are starting a rookie QB

Agreed - I'll be pissed.
I dont understand. Fitz has been playing well
The Dolphins need to give him the rest of the season (as long as he's healthy) to find out if he can be their guy. They may have have 2 top 12 draft picks next year and could use them on another QB if Tua can't handle it.

Fitzmagic is powerful but fleeting. Miami is being smart and getting out of in front of the inevitable collapse that is coming where he goes from HOF level performance to playing like Ryan Lindley.
Get ready for the real QB1 of the draft

Smart would be letting him start Vs the Jets. Instead he gets to face the best defensive linemen in the NFL
