An on-ball LB Josh Allen?

I'd be ecstatic with any of them, but let's not pretend that there is any pass rusher in this class as well rounded as Nick Bosa. Less box score watching is needed from some as well.

This...The closest guy as far as a 3 down guy imo is Ferrell.

I like Allen/burns/sweat/polite, I don't think any are close to Bosa though. I think all 4 of them would be nickel pass rushers their rookie yr which is fine. I'd hope they'd get graham to be the LDE and get Thomas inside.

There is a need for a big bodied receiver, edge rusher, another linebacker and a corner and possibly another safety (rover). Bosa I haven't seen enough of because he seems to be hurt very often. A good large receiver would go a very long way in solidifying our receiving corps (teamed with Kittle and Goodwin who do you double?). Our defense has to be strengthened. I did not like that game on Monday night. TWO teams scoring 50+ points agains each other is not exciting to me. 55 - 10? THAT'S EXCITING!!!

You don't pass on someone like Bosa, BUT the league is trending toward the offensive side of the ball. Trying to build a team around defense is a mistake in my opinion. You can't stop the Rams, Chiefs, or Saints.

The rules are making this more of an arena style offensive game.

That's a good point. With the rules changing every year in favor of the offense the league will start to look like the Arena League. Maybe the best you can hope for is to slow these teams down. Resistance is futile.

The league is trending towards scoring a lot of points on offense and generating turnovers on defense. Pass rushers are integral to generating turnovers.

Exactly.

Yup, and not only turnovers but a lot of teams have to be held by first creating negative yardage. 10 yards isn't what it used to be, but get them into 3rd and 15+ and you're going to get a good outcome more often than not.
If we aren't drafting at #1 for Bosa I think Ferrell has to be the pick at this stage. I still doubt we end up with the #1 pick so I cannot get my hopes up for Bosa.

Positive thinking my son.

I agree but who are the high first round picks for those teams? Mahomes is one but outside of that the teams were all 2nd or later round picks and free agency adds.

It all starts with a legit play caller at HC and a good QB. I believe we have that. Need to get talent on D early and address offensive skill players 2nd round or later.

Exactly. Nobody cares about run defense, Saleh you POS. That was so O'Neil...

That why passing rushing is that much more important than ever. Look at ATL last night their the 7th overall offense and got thrashed last night by the saints D. Turnovers and sacks.

We already have the offensive mind in place which is huge just need our QB back.
Bosa could have the same kind of impact that Jimmy G had. It makes everyone else's job easier so instead of needing great players you just need good ones.

The extra attention the offense will give him frees up the other lineman to make plays.

The LB's don't have Tackles and Guards climbing to their level, the DB's don't have to cover as long. All of a sudden we have a good defense.

There are other players that I think can come in and play well, but none that will have this kind of impact IMO.

This o class sucks. There's no weapons worth taking. I doubt we go tackle 2 years straight even if Staley retires.

If we have the top pick there's 2 options Bosa and trade down if someone wants Herbert. I'd be fine with either.

Dream scenario is the 9ers picking #1 and the Giants at #2.

I'd have no complaint. Add in more QB needy teams that are picking top-10 so the Giants may have more incentive to trade more picks to get that top spot.
