The rules are making this more of an arena style offensive game.

That why passing rushing is that much more important than ever. Look at ATL last night their the 7th overall offense and got thrashed last night by the saints D. Turnovers and sacks.

We already have the offensive mind in place which is huge just need our QB back.
ATL 7th ranked offensive ranking is meaningless. The Chiefs, Rams, Saints, and maybe the healthy patriots make the Falcons look pedestrian.

So you prefer losing 45-40 games? The Chiefs, Rams, and Saints haven't been slowed down by premiere pass rushers this year. Sure the chiefs lost to the rams, but they still scored over 100 points combined.

Ball control and a dominant offensive line can go a long way in limiting another team's offensive possessions and rhythm. I would prefer that, paired with a veteran edge rusher (better than what we have).

I have my doubts our PWILLY led defense or even the Legion of Boom would be able to deal with what we're seeing today.

2013 Seattle defense was built to stop teams like KC. Take away the deep pass and stop the run, force them to dink and dunk all the way down the field.

You have to take what's available in context though. This draft is loaded with pass rushers and they offensive weapon department is pretty meh.
If we don't get a pass rusher in the draft this year I will really be pissed. I'm usually kind of wait and see even if they don't draft guys I think they need but the edge is such a need this year that they can't ignore it again. Even if they don't get Bosa they have to get one of the top 3 guys. I agree with others on this forum that we should get 2. One in the first and another in one of the later rounds or through FA. That we we cover ourself in case our pick is a bust or one of them gets hurt.

I think they'll get one on the draft and in FA. Don't fret, my brother.

This too. You draft based on who is available, now who you wish was available. Last year was a mediocre draft for pass rushers, this is a much better one overall.

The league trends towards whatever premier players are in the draft classes. The run game was dying. Everyone said it was a passing league now. Then in come Gurley, Zeke, Kamara, CMac, Fournette, David Johnson, Saquon and now RBs are up again.

IMO this draft may be historical for for edge rushers. There is a TON available. Maybe that was the plan all along? Why go after questionable PR last years draft, when this next is going to be bountiful?

And I agree, you draft what is available, not what you wish was.

This
I want Bosa so bad. Give me Bosa @ #1 and then Benzschawel @ #33/34 and we are cooking with butter.

There is a need for a big bodied receiver, edge rusher, another linebacker and a corner and possibly another safety (rover). Bosa I haven't seen enough of because he seems to be hurt very often. A good large receiver would go a very long way in solidifying our receiving corps (teamed with Kittle and Goodwin who do you double?). Our defense has to be strengthened. I did not like that game on Monday night. TWO teams scoring 50+ points agains each other is not exciting to me. 55 - 10? THAT'S EXCITING!!!

How many big receivers in that MNF football game?? We NEED a edge rusher above all. Bosa is the best one in this class

And this draft has how many big receivers worth even a top 20 pick.

yeah i think NCstate has that 6'3 guy, Kelvin Harmon, who is really impressive. Probably the only WR ive been watching so far

im hoping that Lynch could do the raiders dirty if we have the #1 overall pick. If Raiders are in the market for a new QB and they want Herbert or some other late riser QB at the #1 pick, we could swindle away 2 1st rounders from them to get a ER and WR.

Why is a 7th overall offense meaningless. Stop.

FWIW I want to win games like the saints have the past three weeks...they're smash teams and have only given up 38 pts total.

People are so in the moment with what they beleive is in or works, it's ridiculous. Rams haven't been blowing any quality teams out of the water. They've won 5 games by one score and teams with a inferior offense with top end pass rushers (broncos) came within three pts.

I call BS that the LOB or our D from the Harbs yrs couldn't hold their own vs THREE teams that have great offenses at this monument. Harbs would have ran the snot out of the ball (keeping their offense off the field) and played good sound D with great pass rushers coming at the QB.

You can say all you want about the saints and that amazing offense, but like I said their D has been lights out the past 3 weeks. Their top 1st rd picks the past 3 yrs (and this yrs traded it for edge rusher) have ALL been defenses players. They haven't been spending top end picks on offense. They got a offensive guru calling plays and a HOF QB. Brees was throwing TDs to no name scrubs last night.

KC isn't gonna win s**t until they improve their defense. Fun too watch but they will lose to a saints team that can play D and put points up. You know what lost them the game? The Rams getting 5 turnovers and scoring two defensive TDs.

End of the day you draft the best players. There isn't s**t at the top of this draft for offensive talent. SF has already put together a very good OL and have a quality QB (just hurt). They already have a great offensive minded HC. They have ZERO in regards to rushing the passer and will continue to lose until they fix it.

There is no Julio jones in this draft, there's no Gurley, there might not even be a true stud tackle.

We have a big wide receiver right in our backyard at Stanford. Whiteside is 6'3''with good speed (he ran track in high school with really good hands. Most of all he uses his basketball skills to go up and grab balls while shielding the ball from the defender. May be a 3rd or early 4th rounder. Stanford players have a history of success as receivers and tight ends in the NFL.
