Lol, the over hype seems contagious in this thread. You could be Jesus himself, but if you're on the bench you can't help your team. The biggest red flag for me with Bosa, (besides his injuries) is the fact that he and his family left the college game to rehab a 8-12 week recovery injury that they say was because he needed 12 weeks minimum. It seems more like they are more focused on the fat payday (unrefundable) that's on the line, instead of on the field goals like possible National Championships.
Didn't see the hype over Soloman Thomas and even though I agree Bosa is a nice talent, I think he's much over hyped too.
In 3-4 years I guess we will all know the answer

If we end up with the #1 pick and pass on Bosa without trading down, how many of you will be livid? I know I will be! BOSA OR BUST!!

I'm also dead against putting Jimmy at risk with some nobody FA or draft project playing RT for him if Joe retires. In today's NFL, your RT needs to be just as good in pass protection as your LT. So moving McGlinchey to LT still leaves us in a bad spot.
Do you guys really want to spend 2019 with Jimmy on the sidelines again because we prioritized selecting an edge over keeping him safe? I sure don't. We lose Jimmy again and no matter how good our D becomes we'll still be a non contender.
Plus looking around the NFL, you can have a suspect D and still win a lot of games. I'm not sure teams won't be placing a heavy emphasis on trying to build a powerhouse offense. Even the best defenses are being shredded by good offenses.
Joe totally looks like he's ready to retire
Gotta love Joe Staley, Mike McGlinchey, and Mike Person mugging for the #49ers team photo. (📷via @megwilliams_co IG story) https://t.co/HCCTOuYEev

ALSO, I just want to say that I don't think that he sucks (like I did with Aweak ArmHurts) and I do feel that he WILL be a better player than Bucko (The Sucko),
But the bottom line is, we are watching his HIGHLIGHTS.. . of COURSE he's gonna look like THE BEST PLAYER because it's his HIGHLIGHTS!!
LET ME ASK YOU ALL THIS, Did you all see JOHN BOSA's Highlights before he was drafted??
Did you not watch him play all last yr? It's not just highlights.

I'm not gonna question a 21 yr old resting his body to get the best possible chance at a life changing job. These kids get used and abused in college. I mean what do you think he's gonna do in the NFL, milk his rookie contract? He's either gonna perform or not in the NFL it's a result driven business there's no "milking it."
Kid has been bred to be a pass rusher and a NFL player. Great his not dumb enough to risk getting totally f**ked for free. I bet Jaylon Smith wished he would have done that eh?

You can win with a suspect D, but you can't win consistently without generating turnovers and forcing the opposition into long yardage situations.
We need those difference makers on D more than anything else.

I strongly disagree with that. I think he just understands in the grand scheme of his earnings career college is just a stepping stone and he already put on tape what is needed for him to be a high pick. There is no point in putting himself at risk for very little gain on his part. College football gets a free labor force, and he has no obligation to be apart of it if he doesnt want too, especially if it puts his future endeavors at risk.
If the NFL is his end goal then its more important for him to take care of himself. Football history is littered with guys who got injured in College who had high pro prospects, thus making them tumble in the draft or ruining there career entirely. Marcus lattimore comes to mind. Plus, most NFL players are about their money anyways. This is how most of them will be getting the majority of their income, it would be stupid if they didn't make it a priority.

Lol dude, no one here is over hyping him. Everyone and their mom has Bosa as the #1 overall pick and a top 2 talent in the draft, and this hasnt changed going back to last year. It is you who is under hyping him because he decided to get ready for the NFL early. Why are we still comparing him to Solly? They are not even remotely close to being the same player, position, or level of prospect. No one was as high on Solly, at any point during the season or draft process, as they are on Bosa. Can you substantiate your claims about Bosa not being a #1 OA caliber prospect with anything other than:
1. He took longer to rehab his injury than my non medically inclined opinion leads me to believe he should have.
2. He got injured, and so did his brother.
3. Soloman Thomas sucks.
