Also I don't think kyle is gonna be dumb enough to want to win a meaningless game and blow the 1st pick.

Disagree. I think you can say that definitively for 2 of them (Lawrence and Clowney )

I mean they have him labeled as their JACK LBer it's like a hybrid DE/OLB he's a pass rusher first but he's gotta be able to have some coverage ability. He's basically a OLB.

What I'm asking is what do you do with clowney and Bosa? I know we want as many pass rushers as possible, so where is everyone planning to line them up?

If we get Bosa (fingers crossed) I'm looking at more of a nickel edge rusher. Another route if we miss on Bosa is go for graham and move down get polite or Allen.

In our D, you have two DEs and then the Sam / Will / Mike LBs. While the SAM position can translate to also be the pass-rushing DE on the other side of the Leo, the strong side DE can also play all 3 downs if they're good against the run and against the pass. Depends on the player / scheme.

Think Von Miller & Bradley's Chubb. Clowney and Bosa can play DE in base and nickel and so both would be DEs.

Living in LA, I really enjoy beating the Rams. But eh.. I hope you guys are right. God I hate the Rams tho
Ugh, this came up on my timeline. I need a red and gold PS.

A Clowney/ Bosa combo isn't happening. DE's get paid. So will Buckner. You just can't invest that many resources in 1 spot.

Graham, Rey are realistic fa targets to pair with Bosa but don't expect us to break the bank on a Lawrence/ Clowney while spending the top pick on Bosa. Especially our organization which is very value conscience.

Disagree. We can absolutely afford to invest 35mil into our DL and draft Bosa. I'm not positive we'll have the option to but if we do, we absolutely should. Edge is the best ROÍ in football in my opinion outside of QB.

Having a Dline with those guys + Sherman, Warner and hopefully a stud FS in coverage (Earl?) can turn this into an elite D quickly. Oh man, and how Id love to trade for Jálen Ramsey if he's really on the block

Exactly. A lot of people want to plug in a pass rusher at SAM(not my preference anymore--I'd prefer a guy who specializes in playing pass coverage/run defense/tackling), but the big end can also be a 3-down edge rusher.

You think Clowney or Lawrence will sign for 35 mil? You might want to double that number.

It's not Shanny you got to worry about it's the players and Shanny is not going to tell them tank. If we play St Louis's backups who will be playing to tank just to avoid injuries it might be hard to steal a loss.

Bad news is we got a 4 o clock game that day so they'll likely know their fate.

Hopefully, Aaron Donald is closing in on the single-season sack record by that game. He won't miss a chance to break it.

No I understand that...currently our RDE is like 290 lbs. also from what I've read Clowney is being used as a OLB and has thrived in that role.

Regardless he's not making it to FA and it's a mute point imo. There's already been talks about him getting tagged and the issue is what position do they tag him under.

I'm not gonna argue over it if he came here would be sweet but very very unrealistic. He's gonna look for Mack money and someone will pay that if by the grace of god the Texans let him go.
If we get Bosa but don't hit on our other picks or get any impact players in free agency, how much do we improve next year. Keep in mind Jimmy and Mckinnon will be back. Will his 10 or 12 sacks make us a playoff team or do we need to get some other good players on defense and an impact receiver. I think we need to nail nearly every pick and/or get some help in free agency. This draft is really critical for Lynch since he missed on 2017. Last years draft had some winners but with 5 picks this year we can't afford to miss on more than one pick. And free agency needs to be big.

He plays a game-changing position, so he'd help a lot on his own. Take this season for example. I'm willing to go out on a limb and say Nick Bosa comes up with a timely sack in the final drive of the GB/ARI/NYG games that could have won the Niners the game. And that's just one example of how he could impact a game.
