True but wouldn't you want to keep Solly even if you take Q? I mean I know they want him to play inside and that would be Q's spot, but there was still talk about developing him at end - which we know Armstead is a little better at playing... however is Armstead's play worth a longer term deal or is Solly's potential enough to overcome Armstead's loss? I would think the new coach (Krocerk) would maybe see something to help that but I guess not .....

whats the point of playing Solly at end? He's horrible rushing the passer from the outside. Might as well put Dekoda Watson or Ronald Blair there.

Along with thousands of other guys that went on to do nothing in the NFL.

YOU THINK KURT WARNER WOULD HAVE BEEN AN HOF IF HE DIDN'T GET HIS CHANCE??

If we pick QW what the heck else are we going to do with Solomon?

I don't think the 9ers are really trying for gamesmanship or a smokescreen by putting Thomas on the block.

While they might have a slight preference between Bosa or QW I think they are perfectly fine taking either one and they aren't concerned about what the Cardinals do.

Also everyone in the league knows they'll pick Bosa or QW so they really aren't going to fool anyone by trying to leave people guessing. So there isn't a point in not trying to tip your hand by shopping Thomas.

He did get a chance and was mediocre at best.

Solly is pretty useless if we take Bosa too. Bosa would steal big leo snaps, wide 9 base end, and all nickel strongside work. He'd be reduced to a nickel interior rusher.

Agreed. Solly being shopped is not an indication one way or the other as to what the 49ers plan on doing. Imo he's expendable if we draft either Bosa or Williams.

And just like that, we know we're getting one or the other.
This is shocking if he's on the block. I need to get off work already!!!

This going to be an interesting draft. I still think Murray to AZ and Bosa to us, and all this is posturing. As for trades, I think a trade for solomon is more likely than a trade for Gould. Gould scored something like 30% of our points last year. ShanaLynch isn't going to let that go without a fight.

after 4 games???

Where do you rank Armstead and Solomon then???
IMO trading Thomas now is dumb. He currently has low trade value. I'd rather keep him since he's still on his rookie contract. Have him play at his natural position and hope for the best he gets better or even plays up to his draft pick. Either way, his value would be better later on.

This. Unless we get something good for him (I doubt it) I'd rather just ride it out with him. I feel like even a half season of play has a much greater chance of raising his stock than lowering it.

His trade value isnt going to get any higher.
I take these rumors with a grain of salt. Almost everybody is"shopped".

I need to hear PDQ, "With the second pick in the 2019 NFL draft, the San Francisco 49'ers select..." !

Especially not after they draft QW.
