Lol

kid hasn't been 256 lbs since he was a freshmen in HS. Wu really trying hard here.

Rashan Gary is naturally 280-290lbs already in college, there's no bulking up. Solomon had to gain that. He isn't a natural pass catcher, face it.

No biased

"Gary is an extraordinary DL prospect who spent most of his high school career as a weakside defensive end, because that's where dominant pass rushers who accumulate 27.5 sacks in two years tend to be found. The catch with Gary is that he's 6'4 and 293, putting him firmly among players who end up inside at defensive tackle after gaining college weight."

Had to gain what? Solly was big his whole life (go read up). Again I don't doubt Gary he's a great prospect you don't need to throw quotes and google search to try and prove anything...i get it.

Thomas is a very good prospect in his own right as well.

He just isn't a natural pass rusher nor the weight the nfl needs him at.

He needs to gain weight and that might or might not throw his speed off.

Again, Rashan was 293 in high school, he has played with this weight all his life. It's a different animal. Imho no biased. That 6'5 281lbs is what disrupts that line and get to that Qb, no problems. Rashan is moving like a linebacker at 280lbs.. naturally..

He hits the line fast and violently.

We are judging individual players without schools being attached, if anything i would want him to stay but i know the natural talent he has.

That's why the nfl scouts are taking him top ten, top five and talks of #1 overall next year in a crowded dline crew at that..

Thomas weighed like 200 lbs in 4th grade lol kid was always big...not until 7th grade did he start fixing his body. He became a top 25 recruit nationally coming out of HS, dude was no push-over either.

He squats over 600 lbs and there's plenty of documentation of him being a gym rat. Aaron Donald is probably the most destructive DL in the league and he was 6-1 285 coming out of college. Great players come in all shapes man.

AGAIN i'm not even talking about Gary . I'm talking about Thomas. I know Gary is a damn good prospect you don't have to keep repeating what he does I KNOW...so was Thomas coming out of college.

He just isn't a natural pass rusher, better against the run imo I hope he shows up this year, we were 29th overall last year and getting to the qb, was and still is a big part of the problem. That's just where the state of our team is at.

Gotta show up on those 1-1.. then there shouldn't be a problem?

He's a very good interior pass rusher, his college coach Shaw even stated the same...he also said he was rarely asked to rush outside because that's not his game.

We need speedy edge guys that can contain the QB so guys like buck and Thomas can do their thing as well.

We saw some good stuff when he was asked to rush from inside and I hope that's the plan going forward.

Could be better suited from inside. There shouldn't be any excuses this year in getting to the Qb.

I still would like a quality player like Rashan that can rush from the edge. 29th is unacceptable.

I would love a quality edge rusher
Doesn't matter He is staying for his Sr. year. I say this as a diehard Michigan fan.

"Not to be outdone, fellow junior Rashan Gary was ranked a few spots higher on the list, coming in at the number three spot. Gary has been a beast in each of his first two collegiate seasons, finishing last year with 81 tackles (11.5 for loss) 5.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. Reiter sang Gary's praises as well:

"A big man with linebacker-like movement skills, Gary joins Oliver and Bosa as elite players on the defensive line. Big Ten tackles are not happy to see him line up across from them, as he can overpower them or out-quick them, depending on the situation."

As much as I would love him to stay, the nfl covets him and the money will lure him out this year, as well as being a top 5 pick. He cannot get any higher in the draft staying for his senior year.

I wish he stays but he is gone,
Dude is mad if he stays another year when he's projected to be a top 5 pick.
"Everything about this defense is top-notch, but the defensive line continues to set the tone. Michigan's linebackers are athletic, but they're consistently able to run free and clean because Gary and company keep linemen off them.

The secondary has been outstanding in man coverage, because the front seven — led by Mattison's group — has created 83 hurries and 88 sacks over the past two seasons.

Everything begins up front. Michigan's defensive line should be the best in the Big Ten this season and make opposing offenses uncomfortable all year long."

This shall be the year we whoop their asses.

"Linebacker Devin Bush and defensive lineman Rashan Gary were both ranked by SI in the top 25 of current college football players. Bush came in at No. 25, and Gary landed at No. 9. There's a chance that both of those players could become top NFL prospects with a strong showing this fall."

"As good as the rest of Michigan's defense is, Rashan Gary may be on another level. Gary's 11.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks last season were great, but he is poised to take another step up in 2017. NFL scouts will have their full attention on Gary when the Wolverines take the field on Saturdays this fall. SI raves about Gary's unmatched skill set."
