Lots of talent, but this isn't the guy for us. Not if you want a start right now. Now if we already had an edge rusher and could afford to develop a guy further...

Based on everything I've seen of Gary, I feel the exact same way. I'm not sure if edge is even his best position. It would be the Solomon Thomas situation all over again.

Yea they using him on the edge this year but he's better suited to be a Buckner type in the NFL

People not paying attention if you don't see Power and Speed.. lol

I've watched every snap, so I am paying attention. The guy appears to be a special athlete, but he's incredibly raw as an edge rusher. There's almost no nuance to his rushes. The one you posted he literally just out-athletes an inferior player.

Watch Nick Bosa masterfully set up tackles and chain together moves with elite hands, balance and footwork, and then watch Rashan Gary. There's a huge discrepancy there.

I believe those two videos shows the Power and Speed of Rashan Gary. He is only 20 years old. The complete package is there.
Gary is good no one is saying he isn't. But Bosa is better.
Need to see things like pass-rush plan and technique in addition to athletic traits.

Here's a good example of a pass rusher with tools and skill:

Damn, this is freaking beautiful. So much nuance here with the speed rush, stutter(euro) steps, fake inside counter, hand swipe, etc. Completely overloads the tackle's processor. Aldon was great at this.

"Gary's stats, 13 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and 1.0 sacks, won't jump off the page to many, but it's what people don't see that makes him so valuable. Gary is regularly drawing double-team, and even triple-team, blocking efforts from opponents. That frees up his talented teammates to get better matchups and make plays. Besides, Gary is still able to overcome those double-teams to make plays. He's looking like the top NFL prospect that many projected him to be going into the season."

If you watch his tapes like you say, then you would see a lot of double and triple teams. That video is all cool and everything but when you get double and triple teamed, those moves won't work.

Rashan Gary has the power and speed that is factory made.

Hand technique like this you mean??? Lol

No, like this. Do you see the difference?

Outstanding stab-snatch-rip move. Textbook hand placement. Great timing. Violent movements. Sweat is impressive. When a player this long knows how to use his hands and chain together moves, he's going to be a problem. Nice bend turning the corner as well.

Yea that Rashan Gary got the sack and beat that offensive lineman with his hands and speed on the edge, I am trying to find the highlight vs ND where he bends.

That Rashan Gary gets doubled and triple teamed a lot of the times and it's noticeable.

8:52 top left hand corner. He shows you bend. There's another play I am looking for in the ND game where he shows his bend as well.

You mean the bull rush into a single chop? That's high school technique. I know that because I'm a high school DL coach. It works for him in college because he's an animal, but he will need to develop more sophisticated hand technique to beast out in the NFL, imo.

Remember he is only 20 years old and his workouts and leadership qualities should be included in the discussions.. His maturity for being 20 should be included.
