Yes we get it, Chase is Herosan
Let's go, mijo.

Yes, yes, he is. Great timing+violent hands+get skinny to reduce surface area.

Chase Winovich – Defensive End/Edge

Winovich has been a highly productive two-year starter. In 2017, he finished the season with 70 total tackles and 8.5 sacks. He has 39 total tackles and 4.0 sacks this season, so he could conceivably match his sack total from a year ago.

When Winovich was in high school he played quarterback and linebacker but was moved to defensive end upon arriving at Michigan. He redshirted as a true freshman and played as a reserve in 2015 and 2016. Last year he became a ful-ltime starter and began to excel.

What I like about Winovich is his all-out competitive demeanor. He's a snap-to-whistle guy who plays a physical game. At about 6032 – 255 with estimated 4.75 speed, he isn't the biggest guy. But with his strength, power and explosion, he plays bigger than his real size.

When playing the run, Winovich gets off the ball quickly, has quick hands to take on blocks and never gets knocked off the line of scrimmage. He has top instincts, is quick to find the ball and easily gets through trash. Chase plays contain very well and does an excellent job keeping plays inside him. He has the speed and takes the proper angles to catch plays from behind when in pursuit.

As a pass rusher, Winovich has good snap reaction with a quick first step. He shows that he can rush the passer with moves or power. Chase is explosive through the hips, giving him the power to walk back an offensive lineman. I like the way he can re-direct and come back across the face of a blocker. He closes well coming off a block. With his competitive nature, you never have to worry about Winovich finishing a play.

In the Michigan scheme, Winovich doesn't drop into coverage, so that will be something that coaches look for in workouts this spring. He can play end in a 4-3 or outside 'backer in a 3-4, because either way he will be rushing the passer on passing downs. I see him as a rotational type player early on with a chance to become an eventual starter in the league.

#72 should get his scholarship taken away.. If this was another era #72 would have been taken cared of..

Spineless scumbag.... Twice he did it in front of the refs.. These refs are f**king bought, that coach is a piece of s**t and #72 should have his scholarship taken away and beat the f**k out of..

Dirty ass players looking to injure.. I feel so bad for Chase right before "the game". Such a dirty f**king play in front of the refs...

Those kids held their composure. They are very well disciplined because in a different era, #72 would have been a marked dude in that game. Sickening to watch..

"Sigh" It looks like a hyperextention of the elbow or shoulder.

We are still good Heroism!!!

I have to disagree with that being a dirty play, and same when it happened to Gary. If that's Joshua Garnett, were praising his "finish" and happy that he's finally playing with toughness. Typical OL play, imo. I am glad, however, that Chase is okay. Will want him to be a healthy 49er!

Calm down. Suggesting that a player should be beaten up is not acceptable posting

Flopping on top of a down player is dirty. They played dirty all night...

They were intentionally trying to hurt Michigan players.. It was blatant...

Dude go to the Nelson thread and watch what that guy does...we all loved it and called it finishing a play.

Sucks Winovich got hurt (looks like it's not serious) I like the way he plays.

Dirty... #72 was out of control.. That's not football..

They also got a targeting call and knocked one of our players out. You could see they wanted to hurt Michigan players.

There's tough and then there's dirty. That's dirty.. I am happy Chase is ok and minimum injuries but they were intentionally trying to hurt Michigan players last night.

Agree to disagree. I see nothing that we dont praise other OL for. OL are taught to finish your man. Get him on the ground, and keep him there. The targetting call I cant speak on, because I didnt see it.
