Late 2nd to early 3rd is where I've seen him projected.

I honestly think his projection is pointless at the moment, the combine is going to determine so much for him.

Is he too small, or just about big enough? Is he too slow, or just about fast enough? Time will tell.

I completely agree. He's definitely one to watch at the Combine, in addition to a number of other EDGE players . In the words of Bart Scott "Can't wait"

#1 overall if you ask Wu-5rings

#3 behind Gary and Bush. Barely edging out Hall and Long.
If Chase was a better athlete, we'd be having a serious discussion about him as one the top edge players in the draft. He's one of the best in class at working a plan and marrying his feet, hands, and hips. Dude has some of the strongest mitts in the class, too. He consistently pops tackles back with his punch.

Timing+hand placement > length

Where do you see him going in the draft? (round)

Probably latish day 2? I expect him to be 6-2, 250 lbs with short arms at the combine, so I don't know how much he'll be able to help his stock in Indi. He could hurt it, tho.

But the man is a football player through and through.

That is about what I thought as well, though admittedly with limit knowledge of him. He reminds me a bit of the Borland - somewhat limited physically but great instincts/IQ.

I've told you guys that for months and months now..... the guy is NOT and will never be a true DE or someone like D.Freeney... Chase will be a good player in the NFL but as a standing up OLB under the 3-4 defense... he'll be a pass rusher (Kevin Greene) with a team like the Steelers or the Patriots..

Personally, if he's there in the 3rd round, I would take him in a heart beat because we can use him as a pass rusher... but if you plan on using him as a down DE, then he's useless.

The problem is that you don't know what you're talking about.

3-4, 4-3 is pretty much redundant now.

1 gap or 2 is much more important. Hell nearly 70% of snaps are from nickel anyway.

Tremendous value for chase in the third and he's even solid in the second if we can snag him there. One of my favorite edge rushers in the draft. If he comes in at 6"2 to 6"3 and over 250 pounds then I still want him. This dudes a baller.
