Winovich's ranking is all over the place. Yes, his SPARQ scores are impressive, but he is ranked anywhere from early in the 2nd to the middle of the 4th round. If the Niners take him, I would hope he is the second edge rusher they pickup in the draft, not the only one. Don't see this guy as a starter, but a good depth pickup.

If he turns out to be as good as the Brooks, he's definitely worth a second round pick!

I see him as a secondary edge rusher. He's not your pass rusher that will beat elite left tackles but will outwork right tackles and catch them napping with his constant motor.

Chase Winovich is a better 2019 NFL Draft prospect than Rashan Gary

Below is the full list of the Power 5 players who have earned a grade as good or better their last two seasons since we started grading:

Nick Bosa

Myles Garrett (tie)

Joey Bosa

That's it. Winovich has produced at the highest level in college football in a Big-10 conference that features some damn good offensive lines. Over the past two seasons, Winovich has the fourth-most pressures (109) and the third-most run stops (69) among all defensive linemen in college football (he'd rank second in both those categories among Power 5 defensive linemen). If you like production, Winovich is as good as it gets on the edge after Nick Bosa in this draft class.
