I would give him a 2nd round grade, only because I don't think he'll light it up at the Combine.

JUST THE opposite of my opinion.. I think he's motor will impress everyone in the combine and may even remind some with Clay Matthews.. but bottom line, be careful drafting him.. he's more of a Kevin Greene type of player.. He's not a real END, but a very promising 3-4 (OLB) - pass rusher..

Cone drills yes, but I wouldn't get too excited about what he's gonna run in his 40. I also don't think he'll have a good vertical. Bench press, I could see him putting up 30 but I don't think teams put much stock into that workout like they do the 40 or vertical.

👀Try telling Lewerke he isn't a pass rusher. Moving that line.. "business decision" 🤣😂

Speed. Great job of marrying hands and feet. Check out the sharp 45-degree angle Chase creates with his lower body as he turns the corner. Impeccable job of pointing that inside toe at the QB and dipping his inside shoulder as he turns the corner. Chase is so good.

Speed to power. Sets the tackle up with a shimmy before getting in his framework. Forklift to peel off the tackles inside hand. Chase has an intrinsic urgency that is rare. The guy never stops working. Feet never stop moving. Dude is desperate as hell to get to the QB as if his life depended on it.

2-way edge rusher. Chase can win outside and inside. Tackle over sets outside, and Chase makes him pay with a violent, well-timed club inside. If not for the guard tripping him up, he gets home.

he wont be close to doing this in the NFL if he lines up as a down END...

He'll need to be a standing OLB in the 3-4
He would instantly upgrade our pass rush and bring leadership/character to the team.

What makes you think that?

Agree. He's not going to overpower NFL tackles and I don't see the twitchy athleticism to get around the edge consistently against NFL competition. But his technical abilities and production will probably get him picked high if he has a good combine.

Have him graded as a third rounder for now. I feel like Whitworth would do the same to him that he did to Marsh. Although I think Chase has more upside and raw tools.
Don't get too hung up on whether a guy is an OLB or DE. It's up to the coaches to find a spot for guys that can rush the passer. I just checked and 4 of the top 11 sack leaders this year play OLB. Two are DT's and the other 5 are DE's. The point is getting to the passer. The leader by the way (8.0) is Aaron Donald (DT). One of last years draft crushes, Harold Landry, has only one sack. Jadeveon Clowney playing opposite J.J. Watt has 4.5. Remember he was touted as a generational talent but hasn't shown it so far. Bradley Chubb (6.5) and Myles Garrett (7.0) are doing well but remember Chubb is playing opposite Von Miller who has 7.5. My point is that there are no sure things and hoping that Bosa will be the guy is just that. Hope he stays healthy, hope he is as good as advertised and hope that the coaches put him in the best position to succeed.
This guy reminds me of Tim Tebow. Dominant college player, but just a body in the NFL.
"NFL teams gave him a good reason to consider it, too. The 6-foot-3, 253-pound defensive end said he went through the draft evaluation process, taking feedback from various general managers and their player personnel staff.

Had he decided to declare, Winovich said, NFL folks were telling him he was a second to fourth-round pick."

Generational is such a lame term, but Jadeveon Clowney is absolutely a game wrecker and every but worth a number 1 over all pick. Any other opinion is box score scouting
