If the offense gets a WR1 like AB, OBJ, or if DK can fill that role, imo it is playoff caliber. It would just needs the o line improved. Now the defense....sigh
What to you is WR1?

if he is der in 2nd round b'cuzz of injury concerns, GET HIM. But gotta hope a team picking 30-32 near end of 1st rd. do beat us to it. Would love to see this guy backing up a FA we bring in, and starts yr. 3, but contributes until then also.

A guy who can do it all. Inside/outside. Beats press/man, finds open spots in a zone etc. A guy who teams have to game plan against lol
That's why AB is tempting, but I question the associated drama.
I think DK can be that guy though. His combine is going to tighten pants.

DK is an absolute physical freak! I am a big height/speed snob when it came to recruiting WRs but later in my career found out speed was more important in my system, so ended up with a bunch of 5'8 160 lb guys that ran 4.3s/4.4s
Anyway, DK is not a Shanahan WR. He's not a polished route runner, had a very limited route tree and is pretty stiff in his hips through the top of his route. I doubt highly 49ers are interested in DK, especially at the premium of where he will be drafted.
If the 49ers look for a bigger WR, I would lean more towards a kid like Riley Ridley.

I'm honestly warming up to getting Metcalf in a trade down. I don't think well do it but damn it a guy can dream.

If they sign two edge players in free agency it makes it a potential option.

I think this is a weak draft all around.
We should trade back, accumulate more (future) picks and draft this guy in the middle of round 1. I don't think there is a true #2 overall "can't miss prospect" in this draft. If we do pick at #2 overall, we should take the BPA.

I disagree on not a #2 overall prospect

DK would be a day 1 starter.

The 8pack is impressive but DK's 6 looks far more rock solid.

If DK blows up the combine like he's expected to do, then there is no chance he's dropping to the middle of the first round. Especially if his neck checks out and isn't red flagged.
If Bosa goes #1 and we miss out on acquiring AB or OBJ, I could see Lynch taking DK at #2 if his stock booms over the next week. We can't go into the season with Goodwin and Pettis as our starters.

Big metcalf fan, have big since last year. But also love AJ Brown.
Later in the draft guy to watch, Lil'Jordan Humphrey
If bosas gone, I'd much rather pursue a trade down, grab Burns or Ferrel, and use some of the additional ammunition we got to take Emmanuel Hall and KeeShaun Johnson. Not to mention next two WR classes are looking to be absolutely stacked if we really want a 1st round height/weight/speed monster

I love Keesean Johnson. He's definitely one of
my guys in this draft.
