The numbers you mentioned are not even possible it if a college WR that is 6'3" that is projected to go in the 1st round already did un human stuff like a 4.0 40 and 10 foot vert. Thatbis number 1 easy.

Trading down and taking advantage of the depth at pass rusher in this draft is the only reasonable way to get him.

If SF drafts Metcalf it's only because they moved out of the top 10.

He's top 10 for sure. I'll bet a lifetime ban from here if you do the same. s**t, John Ross went 8 or something

He can go top 10 but if won't be us with the PR and secondary needs we have.

I can see the appeal of DK and Ferguson for sure. But the reality is the top of the second will be scarce with DE talent and deeeep with WR talent. We could miss out on DEs all together if we wait until the 2nd.

Five of the top seven (and four of the top five) all time sack leaders. Zero rings.

Anyone can cherry pick data. Jerry Rice won three Super Bowls and went to a fourth. Michael Irvin won three.

Meanwhile Rams had Aaron Donald, Suh, Brockers and Fowler, all first round picks, two who will warrant at least HoF consideration, but they lost the Super Bowl because their wide receivers couldn't beat man coverage.

Here is the formula where picking Metcalf over a DE makes sense:

Sign Za'Darius Smith (instant pass rush upgrade). Sign whatever other decent pass rusher hits free agency.

Hole filled, draft Metcalf, then trade back into the first round and draft the fifth or sixth best edge rusher in the draft. The Eagles won the Super Bowl with a pass rush by committee approach two years ago (sack leader: 9.5 sacks), and the Patriots just did it last year (sack leader: 7.5 sacks).

That's probably not happening. I can't see both NYJ and Oak passing on Metcalf after today, but you never know.

If Bosa goes #1, which I doubt, I see Murray(NYG), Williams(NYJ), Metcalf(OAK), and Tampa becomes the wildcard on if Allen falls to us at #6. Metcalf and Murray both rising is the best thing that could happen to us if we want to trade down.

If we come out of this draft with Allen and an extra 2020 first, John Lynch should never be criticized again.

If we trade back and select him. But dont use the extra picks to move back up. It wouldn't be the end of the world. Then use those extra picks on guys like D'andre Walker and/or Christian Miller.

That said, too many WRs available that can put up similar numbers in our offense that can be had between rounds 2-4.

Not as many DEs that you can plug and play and get the same full time results.
