Yep, sounds like everything all went well at the pro day.

DK will be visiting the Ravens and the Bills.

AJ Brown met with the Patriots, Colts, Giants and Eagles. He will also be visiting the Packers and the Bills.

I seriously don't get how an improved 3-cone changes anything. Practicing a drill doesn't mean you get better COD in 4 weeks. It's like guys who lose a little time in the 40 because they bounce a little in the lane. Doesn't mean they're faster if they run more straight and have a better time.

Me too. Dude's got old man agility. An Oil Tanker can change direction faster than Metcalf.

Not bad at all.

I keep reading 4.3 short shuttle, which would put him 0.05 seconds off of Julio Jones' time. Maybe guys that big and fast aren't built to change direction really quickly. That said, his three cone is still > 0.5 seconds slower than Jones', That hurts, but I don't think anyone expected him to test just like Jones. Shoot, Calvin Johnson skipped both agility tests (short shuttle and 3 cone) at the combine, presumably because they would not have helped his draft stock.

Bottom line, I think the dude can play, and he'll be a monster if he's used well. Maybe he isn't going to be able to win on whip routes like Jones can (FREAK), but he should still dominate on fades, drags, posts, post-corners, flags, digs, slants, etc. I actually thought he looked pretty good running a comeback, too, which surprised me a bit.

If his crappy 3 cone allows him to fall past 20, I wouldn't be surprised if the 49ers go up to get him. Shanahan flat out said that guys like Jones don't come around often, and that if you think you have one, you do whatever it takes to go get them. If they see Metcalf as something close to Jones, they might jump to get him.

Personally, I'm fine waiting at 36 to see if Hollywood, AJ, Deebo, or Butler drop to us.

Yup. People are overthinking this. Metcalf will be top 3 WR from this class 10 years from now. He still almost ran a 4.2 at his size which is just insane. You play to his strengths and he will be just fine. It's not like hes got many other flaws, his hands are really good.

Julio's 6.66 3 cone is insane. The difference between the two is pretty extreme. One report from his Pro Day was his feet were really heavy clomping through breaks. Not a compliment for a WR

Right. Like I said, he's not Julio. We can't know how he'd compare to Megatron, because that guy's agent was smart enough to hold him out of the short guy drills.

He obviously can't win on every route, but if your OC can't figure out how to win with Metcalf, you need a new OC. Size, speed, length, strength, hops, and hands. You win downfield (& pull safeties) with that combo, and you can help him come open on hooks and drags by having him start each route as a post before breaking it off. The final break angles become significantly less sharp, and you KNOW they have to flip their hips out of respect for the post.

As I said, I'd rather sit at 36 and wait for someone to fall (someone good almost certainly will), but I would not mind having Metcalf on this team.

And you would be exactly right. In fact, I would be go one step further and willing to bet had Megatron done those drills they would be worse than Metcalf.

He might not be able to get out of the break faster than some of the DBs, but he then overtakes them because of his sheer speed superiority. And even if the DBs could get their hands on him, they wouldn't be able to outjump him or to outmuscle him to contest for the ball. He is just too big, too tall and too strong.

Who knows, crazier things have happened, he may fall. Also, we still don't know whether we might trade down just yet. I am almost certain teams would be calling up for a trade to grab Haskins.

So, let's see what happens.

BS. Megatron would've done poorly in the agility but not as poorly and definitely not worse (Metcalf's 3 cone and shuttle at the combine were atrocious). Metcalf screwed up by putting on ridiculous muscle mass, ruining his flexibility.

He's a top 10-15 pick for sure because he's got prototypical size, length, and speed and good hands, but he's not a perfect prospect.

LOL. There is no such thing as a "perfect" prospect and no one says Metcalf is a perfect prospect neither.

Megatron is 6'5". Is more than about muscle mass when you are talking about 3 cone and shuttle issues. Being too tall affects it too. Don't believe me? Ask a 6'10" NBA player to run the 3 cone and the shuttle and see what happens.

Moral of the story, don't read too much into it.

No. But, if the 9ers trade down, everything could change.
