Quinnen Williams, DT Alabama

And we have another 3-tech who's playing at a pro-bowl level.

I will say this. If Lynch has the balls to take this guy and take the heat from the media, then I'll respect him.

This is turning into a Matt Millen type of GM career. Except instead of WRs, its DTs.

Yup. I still hope we get Bosa or trade down but Quinnen would be a far better pick than Jonah. Drafting for position importance is what got us in this mess. Adams,Hooker and Lattimore were clearly the better players but we couldn't take a secondary player top three according to some so we reached for Thomas. Now some on here would rather reach for Jonah who clearly isn't on the same tier as Quinnen. You gotta learn from your mistakes it really isn't that hard.
Williams would be a great addition...if you noticed in the Bears game and others, teams are still exploiting the middle of our defense. If they want an elite pass rusher, they'd arguably take Bosa or Allen. If they take either guy, Williams won't still be on the board outside the top 10. There are a couple of other options...first is sign DT Malcolm Brown. Pats have already told him they're not going to exercise his 5th year option. Second, they could draft Raekwon Davis, also from 'Bama. He might still be on the board early in the 2nd rd.

Only that's not how it works with top 5 picks who've only play two yrs in the league. They get chances. Also Thomas hasn't been an issue since actually playing inside.

So we gonna draft a DT in two yrs again if Williams isn't some elite player?

If that DT is far and away BPA, yes.

oh so we move on from top 5 pick after two yrs if they're not elite? I see, great way to build a football team. Thomas is improving and guys like Buck and Marsh are getting home because of it.

I'll be shocked if QW is the pick. Absolutely shocked.
I know QW is an animal, great prospect...if he's far and away the best prospect why wouldn't a team right below us want to move up for him?

We wouldn't even have to ask for the moon.

I got a feeling if Bosa isn't there at #2, it's going to be QW or Allen when it's all said and done.
I know 3 isn't the best spot to draft but I've been thinking about Bosa and Q and how they are probably the best two players available. What if the cards take bosa and the jets take Q or jonah?

Then some teams might get chippy towards drafting a new QB and want to trade up.

.

Luckily for you Lynch thinks as highly of Solly as you do! Quinnen is 5 times the prospect, and a lesson in ignoring positional value.

If Quinnen is as I currently feel, light years above the rest, you take him and trade Solomon, for a packet of peanuts if need be.

I would have no problem signing defensive end Trey Flowers and drafting Quinnen Williams.

I agree trading down is the best option if Bosa is gone. But you have to understand by now how your importance on draft position that was shared with the front office hurt us.

Now that dust has settled we can see that drafting the BPA was more important than getting a player who plays a more important position that you kept saying.

The question is if we can't trade down would we pick Quinnen or take a player with less talent?

I tried to explain this to you during that draft but I don't think you understood. Now this past one we drafted MM and I didn't like it because I didn't think he was the BPA but I was wrong. I wasn't upset because we had Brown I just didn't think he was that good and I was wrong and it ended up being a great pick.

With the makeup of our team drafting BPA is a must. You only draft for position when you are close to a championship roster which we are not.
Dude looks like he's about 13 here.
