Quinnen Williams, DT Alabama

I think it's unanimous that a trade is the preferred but unless you have an agenda you can't argue against the benefits of Quinnen Williams.

It takes big balls to admit when you were wrong, if this situation presents itself I hope Lynch is man enough to take Quinnen and trade Solly.

I like Thomas a lot, I also supported the team drafting him but based on what he's shown, he's never going to give you a whole lot as a pass rusher. I think he can be a solid player inside but if you think that Williams can be an All Pro level NT, Thomas, and especially Armstead, shouldn't even enter the equation. Thomas can play big end and do a very good job at that along with getting some snaps inside as part of a rotation. Armstead, can go somewhere else. He's best suited as a 3-4 DE and will never give you much as a pass rusher.

If you're drafting #2, unless some team blows you away with an amazing tradedown offer, you want to walk away with a GREAT player and to me, outside of Bosa, Williams gives you the best chance for a guy that can be great. You don't have to move him anywhere, you play him at nose tackle right alongside Buckner and let him do his thing.

Bump...just wanted to repost it. At #2 you have to have a GREAT player. But what would constitute "unless blows you away w/ amazing trade down"?
All of this wouldn't be happening if we lost to the Hawks and was sitting pretty in the #1 spot with Bosa in sight. But woooohooo guys, why are we not talking about that game and how great it still feels that we won, man I question if we are true fans. Clearly our 5 game win streak carried over from last season to this one and that Seahawk win will do the same next season and have a much bigger and better impact than Bosa would

Bosa nearly across the board. A few for Oliver. A few for Williams. But almost unanimous for Bosa.

Per local radio.

You end Phoenix need to get your stories straight

I suppose it depends which local media you're tuned into.

Lots of fans and media people want a tradedown. Not many people are like "f**k YEAH BOSA!" People are mostly rooting for Haskins to blow up so they can trade down, acquire a bunch of picks and address some of the many pressing needs on the roster. OL and WR being the primary ones, especially if Fitzgerald retires as expected. They are rooting for as many QBs as possible to declare.

Which just makes perfect sense when you've just traded up for a new QB. I don't think the offers are going to be good enough for them to move unfortunately.

Besides, we should all be on the Haskins train, either the Crads trade down and we get Bosa, or we trade down, both would be amazing.

Depends on which sources you go with I guess. Herbert not declaring was taken as a huge disappointment. Lots of people rooting for Haskins to give them options in the draft. Bickley, Somers....etc. Its assumed that if the Cardinals stay at #1 then Bosa is the pick but there is also a lot of support for a tradedown if the right offer comes along. The Cardinals have so many needs that they can go in any number of ways in this draft.

Fans thinking trade down. Pundits overwhelmingly saying Bosa.

That's a different story. You said teams pass on elite talent all the time when they have talent at that position. I said they don't. Typically, aside from the QB position, the top 5 blue chip players in every draft gets taken in the top 5. Did Denver pass on Chubb? They have Von Miller and QB was clearly a bigger need.

Not every team has the same big board and they also take into account their rosters, what they need, what they have invested in said positions, what they value etc...I bet money the Broncos take Darnold or Mayfield over Chubb. Also edge rusher is a premium position.

I mean the Browns took Ward over Chubb when most agreed Chubb was BPA, need and BPA meshed together for the Browns. Derwin James dropped all the way to 17th when most in here said he was an elite talent. Doesn't play an impact position so he dropped.

what Card fans think they're the only team that has cap space lol? I'm guessing Jarrett stays in ATL or would prefer to play for a team that has a chance.
People need to infiltrate the Cardinal fan sites and start a ground swell of support for Q Williams at number one. I wanna hear them demand he gets picked or they will burn the stadium down

No it wouldn't be happening if we lost to the Seahawks (or the Broncos, or the Raiders, or the Vikings for that matter). But what was the team supposed to do, go out and lose purposely? What should Kyle Shanahan have done? What should the players have done?

Or maybe your issue is with fans being happy over breaking a 10-game losing streak? Yeah, I still wish we had the number 1 pick for Bosa. I'm not about to be pissed for weeks/months/years because my team won. Moving on. Same thing with the Myles Garrett deal from a few years ago. I just don't get where people who have this position are coming from because either you think the team should lose on purpose OR fans should just stay pissed because they won't have the number 1 overall pick.

Yup instead we're talking about taken our 900th DT and pushing a bunch of good young talent either on the bench or playing out of position just because lol

I'm all for making as much money as you can, but I'd have my limits lol. I know Arizona and other teams get free agents, but sheesh. I will say this, we better get our O-line together to deal with the Rams and the Cardinals in the coming years.

Maybe, Allen shoots up draft boards after the combine and his pro day, but as of now Williams gets the nod at #2.

Having the team work with players at the Senior Bowl will be a huge plus, especially when it comes to a guy like Allen who is a pretty complete overall player but not the greatest pure pass rusher, likely best suited to play SAM.

Forgot about our guys at Senior Bowl. Nolan wasted his time there...Kyle won't .

Nolan did look good tho.

I'm also not gonna be pumped that we won a meaningless game in week 15 that pushed us out of getting a blue chip prospect at a position of massive need. The position some of us have is when talking to fans that said they'd prefer a win vs Seattle then having the #1 pick. At this pt who cares about that game? big deal...Seattle is still going to the playoffs and we still stink and are arguing over talking our 12th DT lol.
