I want it to be as easy as possible at the top lol...get the stud edge rusher and move on

Yup instead we're talking about taken our 900th DT and pushing a bunch of good young talent either on the bench or playing out of position just because lol

Just because 2 of the others are average at best and this guy is a stud.

All of this wouldn't be happening if we lost to the Hawks and was sitting pretty in the #1 spot with Bosa in sight. But woooohooo guys, why are we not talking about that game and how great it still feels that we won, man I question if we are true fans. Clearly our 5 game win streak carried over from last season to this one and that Seahawk win will do the same next season and have a much bigger and better impact than Bosa would

No it wouldn't be happening if we lost to the Seahawks (or the Broncos, or the Raiders, or the Vikings for that matter). But what was the team supposed to do, go out and lose purposely? What should Kyle Shanahan have done? What should the players have done?

Or maybe your issue is with fans being happy over breaking a 10-game losing streak? Yeah, I still wish we had the number 1 pick for Bosa. I'm not about to be pissed for weeks/months/years because my team won. Moving on. Same thing with the Myles Garrett deal from a few years ago. I just don't get where people who have this position are coming from because either you think the team should lose on purpose OR fans should just stay pissed because they won't have the number 1 overall pick.

Hit a nerve? I'm joking braddah relax. I was of the rooting for a loss fan club though because the #1 pick would do more for ME as a fan than a meaningless win. I know coaches, players, etc.. never play to lose

That interior has been looking pretty fine to me the past couple weeks.

The last thing this team needs is Q ending up in Arizona and turning their D into a top 5 unit because he fixes their biggest weakness on defense.

I'd much rather they just trade the pick than have Jimmy repeatedly getting planted by Jones and Bosa or Williams.

Our division would feature 3 teams who would all have a pretty ferocious pass rush.

So you're saying draft another guy who will compete for snaps against two previous first rounders? It's just silly imo. Williams is a fantastic prospect, but he's a waste with us already having Buckner and Thomas. Not to mention other rotational players we've invested in. (Jones etc)

We may be taking Williams second, but it will be Jonah.

Williams would be the nose tackle. Buckner who be the 3T. Thomas moves to big end and Armstead moves off the roster altogether.

Like I mentioned, I like Thomas, I liked Thomas a lot during the draft process, was happy that the 49ers drafted him but the odds are that he's never going to be a dominant pass rusher, a solid to good player but not someone you change your draft plans for.

If the 49ers are at #2, Bosa is gone and there are now good tradedown offers, then I am perfectly fine with the team taking the second best prospect in the draft, especially if they've already added a quality edge rusher via FA.

We may be taking Williams second, but it will be Jonah.

The concerns about his length and size could very drop him out of top 5 discussion, if not top 10. McShay in his latest board has him 12th. If he's going to have to move to guard in the NFL, you're not taking him #2, that is my major concern with him. Otherwise he's a fantastic linemen but Quenton Nelson was a legit generational "GENERATIONAL!" guard and he did't go Top 5.

I understand, but I still can't see them drafting another inside d-lineman. It's like Millen rafting WR after WR. Makes no sense.

Ive read plenty saying Jonah should be fine at tackle as well as an elite guard. Don't be surprised if he's the guy lol

Which makes Jonah even more likely

The last WR Millen drafted was Calvin Johnson.

Its a possibility but once again, I've heard enough people bring that up as a concern that I wouldn't be shocked if teams see him largely as a guard. If you look around most boards that people have setup, few have him in the Top 10 nowadays. The Combine will be crucial for him.

He's going to stretch his arms out of their sockets lol

Fans thinking trade down. Pundits overwhelmingly saying Bosa.

Thanks

My draft philosophy is to mesh bpa and need not just take the best player every single rd regardless if it's even a need.

What if QW isn't a pro-bowler? We gonna draft another DT in the top 5 in two yrs again? Thomas actually does have a defined role (finally) big end that gets pushed inside next to buck. He's gotten big enough to handle the inside and does take on those double teams. There's nothing wrong with our young DL overall. You don't need 5 first rd picks there.

So what are you saying, you wanted Watson/Mahomes/hooker/Adams etc lol? Pretty easy to pat yourself on the back when you claim to like half of the top 10 picks

Adams is the best SS which he proves on film, not because he was voted to the pro bowl. You don't have to say that he's not good to prove Thomas was a good pick. Or maybe you do?

So how was Thomas BPA if a position of need when we had Buckner and Armstead? We had nothing at FS and Hooker was much more productive in college.

No I liked Mahomes, Hooker and Adams. Not Watson. Lol I'm great at self patting. Come on you know I'm never gonna live thi down cause you said Mahomes was notose to Watson as a QB.

BPA of position of need. There's too many impact positions to spend all your premiere resources on one spot. We're about an off-season away from giving Buckner 100+. I don't want to hear about upgrading the interior.

Right...So how was Thomas BPA of position of need? If you actually believed that the pick would have been Hooker or Lattimore. If you knew Thomas could only rush from the inside why all the hate for trying to get that same idea in Quinnen? You have said repeatedly that he can't rush from the outside so why is a run stopping big end a position of need? We all knew we needed outside rusher not outside run stoppers.
