I agree. QW and Donald are unique.
IMO it's better to compare certain qualities. I think QW's slippery like BY, but I'm guessing Lynch is thinking QW can be the heartbeat of the D like Sapp (and like Foster was supposed to).
QW doesn't have a comp, as a prospect he's Sapp and Wilfork in one. Suh is the closest but Suh doesn't have the athletic ability QW does, which is why Donald gets thrown out there.
I'm guessing Lynch does love him, then remembers that his classmate would be out of a job so won't draft him.

I don't believe that you seriously think this. By the way, neither do I believe that you seriously think he would not get immediately snapped up by another team. So......

I do, I'm not sure if the personal relationship is clouding his judgement or not, but I'm certain he still thinks Solly is a good player.

I think he is a good player, too. The question really is was he overdrafted? With Bosa in the line up I think Thomas will start to play to his full potential.

He was definitely overdrafted. I am willing to wait and see if he develops, but the cost of passing on QW is high.

We won't pass on QW because of Thomas. We would for Bosa.
We could easily say Thomas was over drafted, but it's a done deal. Let's see how he does at his actual natural position inside this year lol and as English said, now he's between Buckner and Bosa or Ford?! He will be fine if not downright excellent.
If AZ takes Bosa then we take QW. Not because Thomas is good or bad, but because QW is easily the bpa with no viable trade offer to accept. It's a logjam and a pita, but we have to take what the draft gives us.

He's like a mix of Cortez kennedy/Warren Sapp the kid is going to be special. I like bosa but don't think his upside is anywhere near QW. But then again we did just get rid of our best pass rusher in marsh and now get to play him twice next year I would hate to see those amazing round house kicks. So maybe we should take the best tackle.lol joking

He's not going to be Sapp or Donald playing from nose tackle. We're going to pass on him because we have Buckner at 3 tech and Bosa can have more impact. It has nothing to do with Solly.

I've said it a few times...if we take QW we better be ready to invest an early pick on a DE.
If we take Bosa we don't have to invest an early pick at DT. In a way you're not only improving the team with Bosa by letting the strength of our DL to do what they do best(which is play inside outside of Ford) but also giving us a better chance to improve the roster at other need positions.
And the cost of passing on QW is not high. Bosa is a great prospect on his own right and I think most people agree that even if he's not one getting 15+ sacks per season he's going to be a great player who can hold up vs the run well and also rush the passer and be a legit threat.
With no Quinnen we'd still have Bosa, Buckner and Ford on the DL. Solomon Thomas wouldn't have to play as a #3 overall pick for that line to be good. If he comes anywhere close to that pick then it will be one of the best units in the NFL.

I've never seen as many opinions on who we will or should select as this year. Usually there is one or two but this tear we have at least 5 or 6 options on the table and depending on what the Cards do it all could change. There's going to be some anxious moments waiting for Arizona to make that first pick and then waiting to see whether we stand pat or trade back.

I think trading back is a better option if Bosa is gone someone will want a Qb
