I'd rather get #17 and a 2020 2nd, upgrade 3T big time on the cheap with QW and basically swapping Buckner for Murphy/Risner + Ford

Lmao @ Bosa being available at 6

Guy is willing to trade Buckner for #17 and a 2nd next year...that should tell you everything you need to know.

This drafts best CB prospect Byron Murphy may be there at 17. Whatever team Murphy plays for will improve significantly as a defensive unit. Buckner has not had that kind of impact.

Lynch got a franchise QB and 2018s most efficient edge rusher with 2nd round picks. Both contribute more to improving their respective units than Buckner is capable of.

So mid round 1st and 2020 2nd may not be fair compensation, but Niners would be the beneficiaries not the other way around.

I think if Buckner focused on hand power, he could be truly dominant along the DE. He has the hamburger hands, so maybe it's just a matter of Kocurek harping the technique. A lot of times, he seems to be like a crowbar - he uses his body and elbows to put blockers in an awkward position. If he can develop an Aldon-type bull rush, he could generate those crowbar opportunities at will. Or if he plays next to QW , that'll create those cracks in the OL too.

Not too much hand techniques available out there to defeat double teams. He just needs a Bosa/Ford playing along side of him to distract the double team blockers so he can free himself to kill the QB.

It very well could happen - if AZ doesn't hurry up and trade Rosen.

Personally, I don't think Rosen gets more than a 2nd round pick in a trade - I mean he really stunk it up in AZ last year. Same with BeatHard, he'll drop a round or two, if not more and I don't expect anything more than a 5th rounder for BeatHard this year.

IMO the same happens when he's one-on-one too.
Hot take alert : I think if Buckner has better hand usage, he could be like Reggie White.

My dream scenario if we draft QW is the Raiders trade up to #2 overall and draft Bosa (their DE depth is atrocious) and we get a few picks back and take QW at 4.

That would make me happy.

I would probably prefer Bosa, but if we take QW at 2 overall I will still be stoked. The Seahawks and Rams had the number 1 and 3 rushing yards respectively in 2018, and the Cards have David Johnson. QW will be a monster against the run and is super effective rushing the passer.

We are in a win win in my book

Reggie had explosive speed to go with his power. Buck has some speed too, but I just dont think it's in the realm of Reggie. Hand usage is great if you have some quickness and speed. It's not that useful if you dont have a lot of either one.
