This drafts best CB prospect Byron Murphy may be there at 17. Whatever team Murphy plays for will improve significantly as a defensive unit. Buckner has not had that kind of impact.

Lynch got a franchise QB and 2018s most efficient edge rusher with 2nd round picks. Both contribute more to improving their respective units than Buckner is capable of.

So mid round 1st and 2020 2nd may not be fair compensation, but Niners would be the beneficiaries not the other way around.

Not too much hand techniques available out there to defeat double teams. He just needs a Bosa/Ford playing along side of him to distract the double team blockers so he can free himself to kill the QB.
