Quinnen Williams, DT Alabama

You don't pass on Aaron Donald. You can go to the Super Bowl with that.

Calm down with the Donald stuff...he does NOT play with the leverage that Donald does. Donald was a grown ass man when he came out of Pitt, he's a tier in his own. QW is more McCoy for me. Still good, not Donald.

How does that matter when only 1 of them has shown to be a consistently good player?

Not just good very good...One played good ball this yr and the other one played well once he actually played inside over the last 6 games. It's not even remotely close to a need and DT was imo our best positional group on either side of the ball.

That's not saying much considering we had the 2nd worst record in the league and a pretty weak roster overall.

Certainly ST was better inside than outside...but I wouldn't pass on Q because ST looked like a starter when playing inside on passing downs. He can still do that in rotation with Q and Buckner. He can also play the big end consistently once AA is off the roster next summer. I firmly believe we should draft the best player among Bosa and Q and IMO Q is a better player who also possesses higher potential.

Q may not play like Donald - but IMO he is better player at this stage of his career than Donald was at 21. There is a reason why Donald didn't get drafted in top 10. He significantly improved after receiving better coaching and training the NFL level - and I fully expect Q to make a huge jump as well...especially considering he has been playing this position for only a year.

Didn't know we were a DT away from going to the super bowl.

I dont accepted his for two years. He should go one more or two years to stay at Alama team. Look at Suh and Aaron Donald were 4 and 5 years from college stats. I hope you understand about it. We should pass on Quinnen Williams!

Totally disagree.

The reason he didn't get drafted top 10 was because he wasn't 300+lbs and is like 6 foot. His size gives him amazing leverage and he's stronger faster than most IOL.

He talks about he comps to Oliver, who actually projects more to Donald.

If you're expecting Donald then shame on you. Go watch Gerald McCoy's college film, Q looks identical to him.

I think the Rams offense may have played a role in them getting to the SB...and losing it

And it shows you how impactful edge is..we didn't s**t there and forced a bunch of nothing as far a turnovers go.

Give me a balanced team vs smashing in a bunch of DTs.

Are yiu suggesting that their #2 o was more important than their middle of the pack d?

We can agree to disagree then. Not sure what you're talking about - but I never said Q is like Donald. I said he is a better player at this stage than Donald was. I also never said he was a better pass-rusher than Donald was. Pass-rushing is only half the battle.

...and 13 teams did pass him and I can bet all 13 of them have better scouts and film breakdown guys than Renner. It's very easy in the hindsight to go back and say - Oh I can't believe Donald lasted till 13 lol

Often...work ethic and heart is just as important as talent (sometimes more). That's the hardest part of evaluating these players.
Q is 21 years old and won't turn 22 till December 2019.
Aaron Donald was a month away his 23rd b'day when drafted.

Played 4 years in college...played DT every year
Q played 1 year at DT

They play a different style but at age 21...Q is a better DT. Not pass-rusher, not run stopper....just overall - he's a better player.
