I'll puke in my mouth if we trade back to #6 for Sweat and something stupid like a few 2nds.

Sweat might be better than Bosa in 2-3 years

You make the point, that's a big problem, just ask Baalke. Bosa will play at a bulked up ~270 lbs and is more fragile. QW will play at a natural 310 and is more likely to stay healthy

Let's just say... Giants get desperate, we deal and the cards fall like:

Tards-Murray. Giants-Haskins. Jets-Allen. Raiders-Bosa. Buccs-QW... are you mad at that?

What do we do (Ferrell, Burns, Sweat or Ferg) with 6th? What about 17th (Oline)?

I think Niners should pick Q over Bosa. I think Q is already a better player but also his ceiling is so much higher.
a) I never said Bosa is max out. I posted Q has a higher ceiling.
b) I think this is quite obvious - Q has played his position for 1 year. Bosa has been coached at his position for a long time. He's closer to his ceiling than Q. Q is not only playing a new position but in a new body. He has more room for improvement.

True.
QW has very high ceiling (poor man's Aaron Donald or poor man Reggie White upside) with a very high floor (almost guaranteed to be very good)

Bosa has a lower ceiling (think Joey Bosa at best) and a lower floor due to high injury risk

This is laughable..

Why? QW isn't as good as Donald, but he will improve and he already is great at DT (great pass rush and great run stopper). Granted I don't know how QW would be at DE, but he has all the traits (speed, power, technique). Reggie White and JJ Watt played both DE and DT because of those same traits. They move the great players around to both DT and DE to find mismatches and keep the Oline off-balance.

Giants aren't trading up. No way. If they do I'll own right up to it, but their GM is timid as hell.

Re Bosa: Yeah, I can live with double digit sacks for the next 10 years.

Why do you assume that? Bosa never had double digit sacks in college. His best year he played 14 games and only had 8.5 sacks and 16 TFL. Nick is over-rated. Nick is not as good as Joey, and he's not as good as QW

Nick Bosa stats:
Year Games Sacks TFL Tackles
2016 12 ...... 5 ........ 7 ..... 29
2017 14 ...... 8.5 ..... 16 .... 34
2018 4 ....... 4 ......... 6 ..... 4

QW stats:
Year Games Sacks TFL Tackles
2018 12 ..... 8 ....... 19.5 ... 71

QW only year starting. In one year QW had almost as many tackles as Bosa did in his career and as many sacks as Bosa's best year and more TFL's.

Dee Ford

Ezekiel Ansah??? options for nickel pass rusher = FA / draft pick (D3 or D4) / K Street / Armstead

Mid round EDGE / SAM draft options: Maxx Crosby / Christian Miller / Oshane Ximines, etc
FA Options: Ansah, Nick Perry, etc

This is even better....perfect example of why we need to take Bosa cuz I'm afraid our DC may have similar thoughts.

Why don't you like? They move the great players (like QW) around to both DT and DE to find mismatches and keep the Oline off-balance.

Tell me about it. If we didn't have Buckner and 6 other guys who are decent inside I'd understand taking QW over Bosa, but we have a stud in Buck and a few other guys who are good starters.

That's hardly the case.

Solomon Thomas isn't very good. Trade him for a 3rd

That's your opinion. We will know what front office thinks soon enough!

You don't pass on elite for decent. If you think Bosa is elite (I do) then pick him. However if they think Quinnen is the only elite player you don't pass because there are other decent players in his position.

Exactly. If they think QW is elite they should take him. If not, they should trade down or take Bosa

Lol yup. I think it would be unwise for them to trade...they (like the Raiders) would be better suited to take advantage of all their early picks. Both are somewhat rebuilding and it could dramatically speed up the process.

Aaron Donald was a month away his 23rd b'day when drafted.

Played 4 years in college...played DT every year
Q played 1 year at DT

They play a different style but at age 21...Q is a better DT. Not pass-rusher, not run stopper....just overall - he's a better player.

And I disagree
