What standard?

You could argue AA/Day/Jones/Buck/Thomas could all be starters on other teams at DT. We haven't even see Streets, who you might as well add in to this rookie class.

You can't say that about any other edge on this team outside of Ford is starter worthy.

As far as AA/ST, all I care about is sub...don't care if either play BE in base.

Never in a million yrs will you convince me that our current edge rushers are remotely close to what we have at DT.

If you want to say Q is just so damn dominant that it doesn't matter who's on our team then fine, don't try to tell me edge isn't a much bigger need though.

If we take Williams we better try and move up from 36 to grab Ferrell/Sweat or if he somehow drops Burns.

And I really don't want to trade up in this draft but if we take Q we still need a starter edge.

If we draft QW I think they both stay. AA is on last year so it's a no lose for us unless we get a trade offer. What's the draft compensation for him anyways? (If he leaves in fa next year)

Thomas, Jones and streets are cheap. There's our depth. Everyone else can go.

Dude has been a saint since going to college, yes he shouldn't have hit that women, but I also don't hate the man for defending his sister.

Let him sit a yr, find out what we have with Thomas and we can get our money out of AA for a yr.

Dude was regarded as a top 5 prospect before the injury.

OR we just don't upgrade DT and get quality talent at positions of need to make the team better overall

Day was literally signed off the street. Guys better than him get cut and signed every single day. He's a depth guy, nothing more. If the 49ers cut him tomorrow, they wouldn't skip a beat. He's like the Cassius Marsh of DT's.

Jones hasn't proven much in the NFL. So far he looks like a solid backup NT. Certainly nothing to declare him starter caliber.

Basically its Buckner at DT, Armstead at 5T for a year and then we all hope that Thomas can come around. Beyond that, a bunch of replacement level players and an unknown ACL project in Street.

I don't give a crap if he's been Mother Teresa, when there is a video of you pummeling the hell out of a woman, I don't want you on this team. And that was before the ACL situation.

Day is a great rotational player and played well when given snaps...Not sure how you could say he couldn't start on say the cards or other teams.



Jones also showed he could play.

Man just hating on all our young DTs who played well when given snaps because you love you some Q. He's a great talent but we have a ton of good young DTs.
