Quinnen Williams, DT Alabama

If that happens my initial impulse would be to obviously take Bosa, but if some QB needy team was willing to give of a ton of loot for Murray, it would be hard to pass up. Ideally if we could trade back and land Allen but that means we
could only go down as far as #4. Anything past that would be a mistake.

In that scenario, I'm not sure how desperate teams are for Murray, but I guess it only takes one offer.
If they picked 5-10, Oliver, Gary, Sweat, and Burns could be had also.

We're not drafting a guy top 2 to "clog" lanes. You better be sacking the QB. That inside pressure doesn't matter as much when you got a mobile QB playing out of shotgun. I want TWO elite edge rushers squeezing that pocket and pushing the QB right into Buck/ST/AA. Bosa makes this team more balanced
Bosa can't play inside as effectively as QW. QW has played DT, NT and originally lined up on bama's depth chart at DE. Also, on base downs you want a player to stop the option of being able to run the middle. He will do that. If people are afraid of Bosa, being injured, put him in the middle at not at the edge and watch that happen.

I like both. Want either one. The question is whether Solomon excels when they finally kick him inside and not making him play out of position. Not every player can. If QW is Suh or Donald (conjecture), why not QW.

Yeah I think it's going to depend on their draft board from a tier standpoint. I imagine Q Williams and Bosa are in the Tier 1 segment, but we don't know if there's anyone else on there.

So if Q Williams is the #1 overall pick, the 49ers are going to demand an overpay in order to move out of the spot. And if you are a team that's looking to trade up for Murray, I'm putting more focus on the Jets rather than the 49ers because I can probably get more value out of that trade vs. getting the 49ers that pass up Bosa.
Just say no.

Bosa has played the B gap at OSU. You can line him up from 3-tech to 9 if you really want. Same as his brother. I'm not saying he's better than Q inside just saying he's very versatile.

Q was a DE when he was like 40 lbs lighter, you're not pushing him outside now. sure you're play him at NT/DT, I don't see how that more versatile?

Go look at the video breakdown in the ST thread when he played inside...worlds better than as a straight up DE. Thomas was never a true edge rusher in college. He's an ideal 3-tech. Bosa makes this roster overall better. Q is probably the better prospect, but ultimately plays a less impactful position. He's not Donald imo

Happy with either, but disagree with Bosa is more what we need. Both Buck and QW can be used as chess pieces and not just DT 3T. Especially QW, This will cause confusion with blocking schemes since Solomon and Arik can go inside also. Having the middle clogged means inside running lanes are neutered and pushing up the middle means QB can't step up and must scramble outside, which on paper would result in a lot garbage sacks for the one playing opposite of Dee.

Exactly, Bosa fits what we need. Don't over think it - just take him.

THIS
Quinnen Williams is the best player in this draft. Time will reveal this to be truth

He probably is, but Bosa isn't far from him (they're both top tier) and plays a more impactful position and is BPA if position of need.

We have needed an impact edge rusher since Aldon was all done. No argument here. I just have this kid rated as the top player this draft if need is taken out of the equation. If we pick Bosa because we need an edge rusher I sure as heck hope that Bosa is a stud on the edge for the next 7 years

What he should've said was, "I'm not a p***y, and I play through injuries. I may look like a big fat baby, but I am not a baby, I played through the pain till the very end and I was relevant in the game we got our asses kicked vs Clemson"

If FO snags him even tho he is a liar, I guess I can forgive him since he did play through the injury and didn't quit on his team

Were you concerned about his heavy breathing?

LOL just a little bit, but he handled himself very well in that interview and did not gasp for air in front of the camera. Impressive

From 7:15 and on...I can't argue. [MOST IMPORTANTLY] "never been injured"

Goodnight now!

Do we want liars on this team?

Maybe he doesn't think a surgery on his finger is an injury. Just a scratch-like Ronnie Lott chopping of his finger so he could still play.

Liar liar pants on fire-nah, the guy just a another guy who is not an English major.

LOL that's it. Those type of things are like paper cuts or a hang nail to him. Not considered an injury QW is a beast.

Nelson was probably the highest rated player by a lot of teams last yr as well...yet guys like Bradley Chubb went higher.

You have a good point there

I have a clip of Bosa as a Sophomore devouring a double team at 2i.
