So he was a backup DE at 280, petitioned to play inside, got fatter to 305 and now in the NFL, will trim down again and lose fat and add more muscle.

This whole 20+/- oreo cookie fat weight thing is a joke these days with Donald, Thomas, and now QW in a passing league.

The reality is the 20 extra pounds probably did nothing for QW inside. Like Thomas, if you have the skill set to play inside, you have the skill set.

Disagree, at that weight you feel a loss of 20 pounds, especially if it isn't good weight (speaking from experience!) He'll be a lot sharper going forward with good weight.

I've been on the Bosa train for a while because I think he's a better fit with our roster (we have serviceable DTs in base and sub packages next to Buckner), but I wouldn't be mad with QW at all. As long as we get one of them or a package of picks in a trade down, I'll be happy.

QW has one of the highest ceilings in the draft because he's only been a starter for one year and he's carrying a lot of bad weight. He has a lot of room to get stronger and more athletic while guys like Bosa and Allen are maxed out as athletes. In his first year as a starter, QW was probably the most dominant defensive player in college football.

I don't understand the maxed out as athletes stuff, why?

I also will be fine with Q/Bosa or a proper trade down...I do have a preference.

It's because he didn't play much this year and people haven't seen his skill set enough.

Folks don't realize the beast Bosa is. He's an animal and a technical freak at that. I just want the draft to arrive and see wtf happens already!

I think Bosa is worth about 3 number 1 draft picks minimum.

I mean this guy (Bosa or QW - on paper) will dominate the NFL for years to come. A guy like Chris Long got two super bowls. A guy like Michael Carter was a key piece in our '88 & '89 super bowl wins. Trading out and missing on either of these guys, man I'd want enough draft picks to get us the two super bowls these guys potentially can get us by themselves.

This. 20 pounds at any weight is still a pretty significant difference.

Williams taking off 15 to 20 pounds bad weight and adding 10 to 15 pounds of muscle over time would make a huge difference in his overall physical ability

I'm not going to celebrate THAT much but your concern is duly noted.

Take all the time off you need. I can't wait to talk politics in the Bosa thread.

Agree! we can bring economics and business into the discussion too. Imagine all the fun we'll have discussing Bosa's front loaded bonuses and political leanings if he donates to Colin's charity.
