Quinnen Williams, DT Alabama

I hate saying it but Joseph has really hammered the need for 2 pass rushers.

If you're gonna compare Guard - you compare it to OT. OT is the most important position on offense after QB. But a guard was taken higher because he was better.

A RB was taken before Chubb in last year's draft. So, you think RB has more impact than a DE?

Left tackle is the premiere position and McGlinch profiles more as a rt. That's more valuable than guard and rt can go top 5 but it's not as common.

I strongly believe that he'll be a LT once Staley retires.

And everyone has said it was dumb as s**t to draft a RB ahead of a QB or even Chubb...Even though that RB was ranked higher than the QB and DE.

edge is just a more important position that DT and it's a reason why they get drafted higher.

Now if Bosa is gone then you have to think about Q

Plenty of ppl projected and said that Giants can't pass up on a RB like Barkley leading up to the draft.

...and ppl who didn't approve of that said that they should have drafted QB - not Chubb. Had they drafted DE - Giants would have been criticized by those ppl for not drafting a QB.

For me, QB is the only exception because without a great QB - chances of winning drop quite a bit. The value between a great DT (especially one who could pass-rush) and great DE isn't significant to say one should be drafted higher than the other.

Just because people projected it doesn't mean it was the right thing...living in ny I hear about how they missed on Darnold or chubb.

Q is without the best player in this draft class, let alone the best defensive player.

The tape speaks for itself. The kid destroys double-teams for breakfast.

If we don't or can't trade down, he simply has to be the pick.

Bosa wise is no big deal, he is a high floor low ceiling guy. He is overhyped and just not special enough. I keep trying to explain to people, he ain't no Von Miller. Teams can easily take another EDGE like Sweat, Ferrell, etc and they won't lose much if any in fact.

But, if we must take an EDGE, the right thing to do is to trade down.

I definitely will not hate on drafting Bosa, but passing on QW will sting for me

Can you imagine DeFo + Q? That would be like having a double-barrel shotgun of sack monsters blowing a great big massive hole in the middle of the opposing O-line!!

That would be so disruptive to the QB. Normally, when edge rushers try to get to the QB from the sides they tend to try to step up in the pocket to throw, but when you are so dominant and essentially collapsing the pocket in the middle, the QB will have no choice but to be flushed out of the pocket.

Exactly, and if we are facing a pocket passer, forget about it. The play is dead. Having great edge rushers is great but the QB can step up and make a play from time to time.

I sure hope so considering we used the #9 pick on him. That would be awfully high for a career right tackle.
I seriously wish we had two top picks and could draft both. QW is going to take the league by storm. Everything he does translates so well. Hes not just an athletic freak hes probably the smartest defensive player I've seen in a long time.

We don't which is why it should be Bosa

I see a lot of Barkley jerseys in the stands when I see a Giants game. Who cares what ppl think. When there is a truly great RB in the draft - he gets drafted pretty high.
Exciting to imagine our line if we pick him. Maybe go edge later in the draft.

Yup, and with Dee Ford chasing them down, and then any other edge.

I hugely disagree with you on Bosa though, he is every bit as rare and special as other edge guys, the difference is while he's a great athlete he's not a freak.

He's a freak of a technician, and he's more powerful than the Von Millers are fast. Bosa is a stud, so is Quinnen, we can't really go wrong.

Jesus they could have drafted Darnold or even Chubb at 2 and gotten Phillip Lindsay in the freaking 7th rd
