I think you're right about their being 5 1st round edge prospects, but I don't think they're all top 10 guys, a trade back into the 1st round could be on the cards.

I don't doubt he could play in this scheme...I do question his length and I just don't see him as some can't miss tackle prospect. I also think there are quality vets in FA to be had if we need a OT.

I agree at this pt a trade back would be ideal.

? I mean top prospects usually help with winning not losing. This team was done week 3 could have salvaged it with a blue chip edge rusher.

Cool we beat Seattle, we're 4-10 and they're still going to the playoffs more than likely. I don't want our season's high pt being we finally beat some team after 5 yrs, I want it to be winning playoff games and more. Best way to do that is getting the best possible players on the team for the long-term.

Thank you! At some pt they gotta be able to develop a lineman. How many 1st and 2nd rd picks we need on the line

Haven't spent a high pick or money on a true edge rusher since 2011.

Yeah, but can he snap the ball? J/k but our weakest OL link right now is Richburg. I just hope he gets better and some say he has been injured. As for #1 pick, Bosa all the way. Not gonna happen tho. So get an OT who can play OG,(as PHX said, maybe better), to cement the OTs for yrs.

Is he that good? Much as i want the best ER out there, a kid who STARTS as freshman at Ala? Cripes, that just doesn't happen. While we have been picking linemen from the W. Coast, Ala has had the best talent for 7 yrs now.,.or close. And it is guys like Willams that are responsible for that.

"Build your lines first". Everyone knows where that came from...and this would cement our OL, esp at OTs , for long time. And if we put him at OG this yr, suddenly we have that OL that strkes fear into opponent's hearts.

What would change my mind would be a kid who suddenly looks all pro at ER come bowl games and combine. If there just is a big fall off at ER after Bosa, heck yeah, take Williams.

Other possibiility is someone has a "HAVE TO HAVE" on Williams and is willing to give up way too much for him. Never discount that. If someone had a pair of 1s for our spot, have to at least keep it in back of our minds.

Note: if we end up with pick #2, don't forget that could translate into the first QB taken this yr and that kid from W.VA, Grier , has made his way up some boards. So that #2 pick might just be the #1 pick in the draft after Bosa goes....assuming all draft slots stay as is right now.

and a shot at #1 QB could be very interesting to half a dozen teams at present. Maybe with Bosa gone the 49ers might get around to doing some "gold mining."

IF some poor sap thinks that kid is the best thing since sliced bread, then I am all in favor of taking not just his lunch money, but also his lunch.
