Don't be surprised if we end up drafting this kid even if he doesn't retire.

Hahahaha.

I don't think we want to admit how old Staley is.

Truthfully I am feeling edge first round and best OT second round. Even if we can get Staley for the much needed one more season.
We just need to draft a VERY GOOD player, not whiff trying to fill a certain position. As bad as it sucks to not have a good pass rusher, not having good pass protection is bad for the exact same reason. I heard Staley had been contemplating retirement, but came back for Jimmy. Who knows what is going through his mind now, going through another losing season. He won't play forever, and we definitely don't want to be caught without a good replacement.
It looks like once again, we are going to be one position late in getting a premier can't miss edge rusher.

Yup. I still hate the s**tty Rams D against kap and Jared Goff for throwing that pic that cost us Garnett. Even though the Browns could not beat the back up Steelers they still are the Browns
Williams is definitely a great prospect, but I wouldn't pass on a potential all pro defensive position player for him. There are quality day 2 tackles in this class: Yodny Cajuste, Alaric Jackson, David Edwards, Kaleb McGary. And then some good day 3 guys in Tyree St. Louis and Chuma Edoga
If Bosa is gone, I would not be upset picking Williams. Yes we need a speed rusher, but having stud bookend offensive tackles is a good thing. Everybody moaned at mc glinchey and look how that turned out.

Totally agree

Yep, especially with the depth of ER in the draft and FA

Out of all those teams you meationed only the chiefs spent a top 5 pick on OT and he's not even their best tackle. You know what slows down a good offense? A guy who can get to the QB

Like how Myles Garrett slowed them down? Or Vonn Miller and Bradley Chubb?

Again who's their top end OTs then?? Eric Fisher is the only top 5 OT out of that bunch you talked about.

Von Miller won Denver a damn SB. They're not losing in Cleveland because of Myles Garnett and you know it. Horrible take imo

You still think a defense matters after watching last nights game?

Yes, although depending on the relative talent available and Staley's view on next year and the year after, we may be well advised to take a big bodied receiver in 2 and slip Joe's replacement to 3.

Definitely ER 1st round, but 2nd round NEEDS to be a playmaker, perhaps Parris Campbell or Kelvin Harmon if they fall. I doubt it though.

Yes. How many strip sacks led to points? You think Rams win without 50 and 99?

Playmakers mean squat if the qb only has 1 second to read the field before he is pummeled.
It's officially triggering mock season, folks.

3. San Francisco 49ers - Jonah Williams, OT, Alabama.

The 49ers just took Mike McGlinchey in the top 10 of the 2018 draft, but Joe Staley is in the twilight of his career. Williams could even start at guard at the outset of his time in the NFL, then play left or right tackle in San Francisco. Watch the 49ers take on the Bucs on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on Fox (stream on fuboTV, try for free).

Joe has $11 million reasons to not retire next yr and he's got his best bro on the team. We play well next yr and he might even ask for another yr.
