He's not a lazy idiot, so already he has that over DGB.
#1? That's awesome. Kiss him goodbye at 36 lol.
Have a feeling that the kid might go in the teens. I could see the Giants taking him.
More often than not, the Steelers draft whichever WR I want most.... I could see them grabbing Butler.
If you are 6'5" 227 lbs. and run a 4.49 and are very productive in College there is no real reason for you to be available in the 2nd round. People are unrealistic about this guy. I highly doubt he will be available there. He will go higher than you think. Somebody will fall in love with his measurable stats. He was productive too. So it's not like he didn't have production. I could definitely see him going possibly late 1st round. All it takes is one team. Guys with his size and speed don't grow on trees. If he was sitting there in the 2nd I think he is potentially a steal. Nobody is a guarantee but his upside is huge IMO.
I'm a Hakeem believer.

I think that's reasonable and I'm sure he'll be pretty high on many teams' boards.

But do you think he will be above Metcalf, Harry, or either Brown?

Not asking that as a challenge but as a legit question in an attempt to dissect this. Because I've been asking myself this question as I try to rank these guys.

For me I still think Metcalf and Harry are above Butler. I would not be surprised if teams have either of the Browns higher than Butler, but I don't. I would also not be surprised if the 9ers have Deebo above Butler because of Shanny's personal preferences. And I'm still not sure where to rank Harmon in this group...

For me, Sutton was an obvious first round pick last year. But he didn't end up going in the first, and was right in the middle of the fat group of late 1st round to 2nd round WRs. Could play out similarly this year...

So SD, if the 9ers had their pick of Harry, Deebo, Butler, Harmon and AJ Brown, which one would you take?

Hakeem at 36, or even Kelvin Harmon. Either works for me. Or Emmanuel Hall in the 3rd. The WR class is so nice

Metcalf will go higher. Harry maybe but I'm not sure he is much better or not. Parris Campbell will go pretty high because he has speed. Personally I like Butler a lot. He would give you a huge red zone target with speed. Plus he was productive. I would not hesitate to pick him depending where you can get him. Obviously we can't pick him at #2. But if he was sitting there at the 2nd round I think he could be a great pick. You would probably have to move up into the late 1st round IMO. Some team will fall in love with him. I doubt he lasts until the 2nd round.

Fair enough. Will be fun to see how this shakes out.

I don't think we should be moving up into the first for a WR when it seems like there will be so many to choose from with our second round pick. Unless a run starts in the first and we're in danger of missing all the top talent... but I don't see that happening.

I think if they were both there I'd take Harry over Butler. He isn't as exciting but he seems like more of a sure thing to me. But other than that, Butler would be my choice over Deebo, Brown or Harmon.

Honestly though, I'd be pretty excited about any of those guys.
I'm warming up more and more with butler at 36
He's my top WR pick at #36, but I think Shanahan will pass on him since he doesn't fit his prototype. Will look elsewhere for a smaller guy.

Shanahan's prototype is separation. He had his best years calling plays with Julio Jones, but there aren't too many Julio Jones in this world.
