Dwayne Haskins-QB-Ohio State

I think most would say Greedy Williams in the best CB but that is debatable I suppose. They certainly havent played like a top defense today. Ohio St has had a lot of wide open receivers.

LOL He isnt close to being NFL prospects like Mayfield and Darnold were last year. He is playing fricking Washington. I wouldnt get carried away by his stats today.

12th overall defense in the nation...
http://www.espn.com/college-football/statistics/team/_/stat/total/position/defense

17th if you go by total yards which is typically used. Anyway, Washington does play in a bad conference which you have to consider when looking at these stats. You think they would be 17th or higher if they played in the SEC ?

Ive always used this site...too each their own

https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/current/team/22

He also put up like 400 yards and 6 TDs vs the top D (at the time) in Michigan.

TRUBISKY went #2 overall after getting rattled by stanford D (PAC 12 team) ... Haskins is ripping apart washington defense, you don't think he warrants #1/2 pick??

No I dont. Not with Bosa and Williams sitting there as 2 potential elite players in the NFL. But, we can agree to disagree.

Not sure their ranking but the Pac 12 is pretty awful. To me, Haskins has been pretty efficient but really has done nothing to make you stand up and go WOW. Maybe most people see him as an elite franchise QB but I just dont get that right now.
And you don't have to see him that way. Just as long as someone/team does. And they will. QBs ALWAYS get hyped before the draft. Look at recent draft history. Remember two types of teams, those with a FQB and those without a FQB. Those without want to be hanging out with the cool kids. Haskins will go #1. It is the perfect scenario for AZ. They need picks more than a singular player. Same thing for Raydahs. We have a lot of needs too but one need far outweighs the others.

Not saying you're wrong about Haskins but OSU is a better program to Washington, NC State is not to Stanford. You could put any OSU qb in there and they'd wreck Washington by 20. Normally there would be running from the qb though.

Trubisky last year: 68% completion (304/447), 8.4 yards per attempt, 3748 yards, 30 TD 6 INT, 157.9 rating
Haskins this year: 70.2% completion (348/496), 9.2 yards per attempt, 4580 yards, 47 TDs 8 INT, 175.8 rating

haskins has potent and speedy WRs and a great coach, but he plays in a tough conference against tough Ds. trubisky went #2, you don't think Haskins warrants #2 or #1? when teams like broncos, Giants, Jags really want QBs??

Bowl season draft scouts are strong up in here.

Haskins has been good all yr, people haven't been watching apparently

His progress through the season has been amazing. He just continually got more calm and relaxed as the season progressed. I'm sure someone is going to fall in love with the guy.

Well I certainly hope you are right because Nick Bosa will fall into our laps then. I just think its wishful thinking by Niner fans rather than reality. PLEASE have you be right!

You'll find someone who wants him very early, but with no teams to jump until the 5th pick there's no stress to trade away an entire draft. I think It's much more realistic he goes at 3 or 4 then 1 or 2 when no one will pass on Bosa or Q without a king's bounty.

before that... trubisky played parts of two years passing for 1000 yards with 11td and 4 INT
haskins played part of one year, passing for 500 yards with 4 TD and 1 INT
i would say very very very similar careers... with haskins proving it against better competition, higher projected prospect before beginning of the year/ high school

Even if AZ keeps the pick they aren't taking Bosa. They have far too many needs. Their owner is notoriously cheap so they are unlikely to fill those needs in FA. I think they are a lock to draft a Williams if they stay at 1. That's just the way that teams works. I think they would be willing to move back, but not too far. I believe they will want Jonah bad and honestly he's probably the best pick for their team. Their oline is straight trash and at worse he will be a very good rt for a decade+, but he has franchise LT type potential imo.

No, I think he would have ranked 3rd-5th in last year's QB class and he's being boosted up in a weak class. He has an elite line, a strong running game, and elite receivers who do a lot after the catch. Ohio State's SOS was 43rd before the bowl game (not tough) based on sagarin rankings. Haskins has good, but not elite size and traits (arm strength, athleticism, accuracy). Herbert would have been taken ahead of him if he declared in a weak QB class. I don't think Lock is far behind Haskins as he has better size and a bigger arm and is as accurate in my opinion (he just isn't playing with the talent Haskins has).

The 2017 draft also wasn't strong at the top. Garrett was far and away the best player in the draft. The rest of the top 5 were Solomon Thomas, Leonard Fournette, and Corey Davis.

I hope you're right about this. I've been saying for the past couple days that Q Williams makes the most sense for Arizona but the internet consensus is the Cardinals will take Bosa. It doesn't make sense to me.
Damn if we didn't have Jimmy I'd want Haskins at 2. He read through progressions really well and you saw him get better as the season rolled along. Someone is gonna trade up for him.
