Retread QBs that are either old or mid tier doesn't really help teams that suck currently with that type of QB already on their roster (phins, cinci, NY, broncos, TB, jags etc) getting what some people think is a good young QB on a rookie contract is a big deal.

If Haskins declares and does his thing in the draft process, I wouldn't be shocked at all if a team moves up for him. Happens all the time.

Winston, Tannehill, Bortles weren't retreads they're top draft picks gone wrong. Miami, TB, Cincy, Jax may be saying do we want to spend another 5 years developing a risky play. It happens all of time where teams will focus on line, d and accept a bridge qb.

I don't buy that Arz is going to take a discount. We may because there's not many good picks there for us but the top pick is too valuable to just take 60 cents. There's going to be a market for Haskins but the question is will teams trade away an entire draft for him just climbing over a top of each other? I'm skeptical of that.

This. Half of us had no idea who he was until this week lol

He's no Manning or Luck. Too bad for us :(

Huh? Dude plays for a top 5 program and is putting up the best stats in OSU history at QB. He was a Heisman finalist...I most certainly knew who he was and so do scouts.

Did anyone know about Wentz this time in 2015? Nope.

Also he doesn't have to be manning or luck to be considered a good QB that teams might want to move up for....go look at all the QBs teams have moved up for or drafted at the top they sure as s**t weren't close to the prospects of manning or luck.

Its been him and Herbert pretty much all season.

Yeah man some of us are draft whores in here. This kid was all over sportscenter all season

I think it is a byproduct of the 49ers not needing a QB for once. If this was 2015, half the forum would know Haskins's favorite cheat meal and where he pumps gas regularly by now.

Exactly. Manning and Luck happen once every 15 years but qb's go first overall more often than not.

The people that didn't know who Haskins was until a week ago are the same type that strictly look at the pre-season mock drafts/rankings and obviously Haskins didn't have tape to be rated high (not his fault). He's been absolutely electric, dominant, and has produced against top tier defenses all season (just watch Michigan game). He is at the very least Mitch Trubisky caliber as a prospect at this point but has produced at a higher level and has a bigger upside and chance to shine in this bowl game. Also keep in mind this draft class is really meh at qb outside of him and maybe Daniel Jones so supply and demand will play a major factor for teams/gm's that NEED a qb to save their jobs.

Moot point if we don't secure top 2 pick...please let it happen. Hate that every team we need to lose are playing at home :(

Sounds like TB might play Ryan Griffin at QB. No QBJ in NY most likely (wouldn't be shocked if they play their backup QB either). Browns are looking to break the hearts of division rivals. I'd rather be in our shoes then the Jets

I posted the very same thought recently if there is a good QB teams will move up to get them you mentioned Wentz he is a very good example of that exact move. QB is to valuable a spot for a team in the NFL if they even think one might be a franchise QB teams will move to get them.

The Dakotas is the first place Pheonix starts looking.

Is he better than Mahomes or Watson coming out? Neither one of them went even top 10. Because what GM's are going to see with him is wide open guys, college can't handle athletic qb's, and his placement/ accuracy only being average. The thinking becomes the pros will be alot tougher.

I just don't see a team giving up the farm for him. If they can wait it out they will.

I could say the same thing with Goff, he had wide open guys all the damn time....you could throw in Mayfield/Mitch as well. College football is full of spread offenses with easy reads.

It's the NFL there's not a lot of we can wait it out. There's turnover constantly top to bottom.
