Chase Young, EDGE, Ohio State

Man, Arden Key was one of the most overrated edge prospects in recent memory. I think most people who actually watched his tape were meh on him.

What about those "1st round locks" who play and end up going in the 3rd-4th round? I would hate to take one of those in round 1 because they sat out.

Then they would quite literally not have been locks.

There is nothing Chase Young can do to hurt his draft stock...other than play and get a major injury.

That is the opposite of a lock.

Screw the NCAA. Get ready for the draft kid.

Arden Key was a lock to be a 1st rounder in the same way Jachai Polite was. The only time I saw him Top 5 was an early mock two years before his actual draft.

Young is an absolute stud in the same manner as Myles Garrett. He'd have to murder someone before the draft to not be the first non-QB to get drafted.

Dude has 13.5 sacks in 8 games...he's gotten better every yr. It's insane to even think this kid is the first non-qb to get drafted. IMO he's the best overall player in the draft.
Young will drop down to pick #32 and we'll draft him.
With regards to Arden Key, it's important to remember there is a difference between a 1st round lock amongst media, draft Twitter, and premature mock drafters, and a 1st round lock to NFL teams. Mock drafters have to create content, and a lot of their choices are purely projection.

For chase, I don't know how the NFL viewed him prior to this year, but I have to assume that, while his stock was high entering the year, his stock has sky rocketed to a top 3 pick based solely on his play this season.

Um what? If he sits out the year like you think top plays should do. You are going to get people like him going in round one.

1. Cleveland Browns

The Pick: Edge-Rusher Arden Key, LSU

All summer the 2018 draft has been billed as the "Year of the Quarterback," but that doesn't mean the first pick will be a passer. Especially if the Cleveland Browns have success with rookie second-rounder DeShone Kizer in 2017.

Cleveland has named Kizer its starter, and he has talent—last year at this time, he was ranked as the No. 1 quarterback for the 2017 class. If he plays to that potential, the Browns won't be selecting a quarterback.

Arden Key has a skill set that makes him a true threat to be a top-five pick. He's 6'6", has added weight and bulked up to 265 pounds and has the speed and power to dominate on the edge. Key and Myles Garrett coming off the corners? Yikes.

1. Arden Key | DE | LSU | Junior

At 6-foot-6 and just over 230 pounds, Key has plenty of room to grow into his gigantic frame. Even at sub-240 pounds in 2016, the Tigers sophomore had 55 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks after a freshman All-American season in 2015. If he adds some weight to his and builds on his first two seasons at LSU, Key is a prime candidate to go No. 1 overall.

Yep, lots of people with really dumb takes out there. It gets clicks. Nobody that had watched Key extensively thought that he was a top 5 caliber prospect. He was a one dimensional pass rusher with off the field issues that had quit the team in the offseason. You had some people pushing Mason Rudolph as a Top 10 pick that year as well which was just as ridiculous.

Young is the real deal in every way. Size, athleticism, skill and work ethic. He'd be the top edge off the board in just about any draft class. None of the numerous knocks existed with Key apply to Young. He's about as complete of a college edge rushing prospect as you're likely to find.

Just like with Clowney, Myles Garrett and both Bosa's you know this dude is going off the board fast.

Not sure how this hurts him any at all. Might hurt Ohio State some if he's missing more than a game but this dude is set to cash in as a high draft pick.

The scary thing is that Ohio State might have an even bigger freak edge in Harrison to come in and pinch hit for them.

Is why college players need to start getting paid. This would be a non issue if the NCAA wasnt so far up their own a*****e.
