Doesn't seem like a Mayock pick too me. I wouldn't be shocked if he has Lamb higher

Oh you think?

Jeudy is over-hyped because he went to Alabama and also had very good QB play
If Jeudy went to lower rated school with weaker QB play he would be in the same group as Tee Higgins, Aiyuk etc late 1st or 2nd rd

His route running is elite and something special. Walsh saw the same thing with Rice, even though he went to a small school. The good GMs will see how amazing this kid can become.

Just saying, if we hit or not on that first pick, but if we want the best WR or the best CB, I wouldn't mind jumping ahead one or two spots to get that player. I'm basing this off our HC and GM's style. Kyle and John have shown to be very aggressive when needed. I'm not trying to sit here and compare whether or not Jeudy can catch bricks. I'm looking at the odds we will be aggressive in trying to get him if he's our target.

Just posting this to post this. FWIW

We don't have enough outside speed," Mayock said in an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal at last week's Senior Bowl."People started to load up on Josh [Jacobs] and Darren [Waller]. Our offensive line is a big, strong, tough group that we're happy with. But let's be honest. If we're going to take it to another level, that position has to get better."

Naturally, there are two places teams go about adding talent in the offseason: free agency and the draft. Most will tell you the draft is always the best option for long-term success. That's Mayock's wheelhouse. He made his name as a draft analyst with the NFL Network for 15 years.

Here are his thoughts about this draft, as well as drafting receivers high.

"It's early, but I certainly think there's a lot of wideouts in this draft," Mayock continued. "It's a deep wide receiver draft. Now, you have to be careful, especially the higher you go. Do yourself a favor and go look at (the history of the draft) and look at first-round wide receivers over the last 10 years. It's sobering. And I think there's some reasons why college wide receivers can struggle coming into the NFL. So I think you have to be careful. Everybody thinks if you draft a wide receiver in the first round it's immediate production. It doesn't necessarily mean that. Take a look at the numbers. So I think you have to be aware of what you're facing and I think you have to be smart with what you're doing.

I also think Oakland could go all over the place in this draft. Reportedly they hate their interior DL. They could love one of the QBs and their CBs aren't good.

We will see

This is why we see so many busts at WR. The highest rated ones usually (not always) come from the schools that play on TV the most and have good programs. At the same time, some very good receivers come out of smaller schools. Sometimes they just didn't have the grades to get into some of the bigger schools or they had some other issues and got passed over in the recruiting.

He's Chad johnson imo. I don't think there's a single person who wouldn't take chad Johnson 2.0 (without the diva).

He had a meniscus injury end of his sophomore season and underwent surgery...he's fine now but that can always change up the following season a little. Dude had 4 high end WRs on his team this yr as well...I wouldn't imagine his stats would go up. Throw in a downgrade at QB.

Upside is he can get stronger and he can improve his hands...You can always improve and he's very young.

Bolded in quote...including 2 first rounders (one stayed in school but will go Rd 1 next year and of course Ruggs III) There are only so many balls to go around. Hard to "improve" when your QB has to feed everyone.

His route running is the best in the class. That's why I am sold. If the pick is Ruggs I'll be just as happy because I trust Kyle knows WTF he is doing and how the player Shannalynch drafts will fit the system. I would love to see all this nit-picking and smokescreen nonsense actually drop Jeudy to us at #13. I really doubt that happens though.

It'll be interesting to see how Mayock and Gruden work together again. It's been reported that last year Gruden deferred to MM, so a lot of those selections they made were his guys.

I actually think DeVonta Smith might be the best of all of them, personally.

i've noticed this too. They use him more than Jeudy and Ruggs it seems like. Not sure where he's gonna be drafted but I would like to have him.

I think a lot of people think that. He will be a 1st rounder next year just like Jeudy and Ruggs III

He's a stud, so is waddle.

It's funny we tend to go through this every yr...last yr it was Jeudy is the best WR to come out in a while. We will never have a chance to draft him. Now that's a possibility and people are doubting it lol. Let's try to throw as much doubt as we can on a player (same s**t with Bosa last yr).

Next yrs draft class is also gonna be epic for sure, we also tend to want what's next or somehow that will be better...If jeudy is there, imo it's a no-brainer. Any of the top 3 WR in this offense is a no-brainer for me.

If a team is willing to give up a ton of draft capital to move up then moving down should be a real option...I'm not moving down for a mid to late 3rd though.

I think hate is too strong a word, but they want to get more talented on the IDL. Brown or Kinlaw are very very much in play at 12 for them.

And I would not rule out a trade back. They have no second round picks (but two in the third).

Despite having the best stats between Jeudy, Ruggs and Smith, Smith wasn't even the best WR of the three. Smith was suppose to declare for the draft but opted to go back to school which probably meant he didn't receive a high enough grade. Smith is also rail thin and probably wouldn't have been drafted that high because of it. Sure he could add weight, but would that hurt his game or speed if he did?? Last season he also had Jeudy and Ruggs to take pressure off of him, let's see if he flourishes without them and with Mac Jones as his QB.

Raiders probably think the same about the 9ers which puts more pressure on them. IMO
