Jerry Jeudy, WR Alabama

He's a perfect fit for Shanahan's offense

Doubt he falls that far. If he does it will take a lot more than that to make the jump.
Too bad Goodwin, Pettis, McKinnon, Thomas, and Witherspoon don't have any trade value to help the team move up for a player like Jeudy.

Well, that ought to take you up high enough, maybe 10-12, but at the cost of eviscerating a second consecutive draft. So no, thanks.

When KC moved up for Mahomes, they traded 27 and 91 to get to 10

They gave up 27 and 91 that year and a first next year. That's very different than giving up a 31 this year and a 1st and 3rd next year when we're the NFC Champs and most expect us to be in the running for the SB again next year.
Bump.

They need to draft him. Cheap wr talent is hard to find. Especially with a toght salary cap.
I can (virtually) assure you we didn't get let Buckner go to gamble on a highly-touted WR...of all positions.

We're most likely eyeing trading again to refill the cupboard.

The Dolphins have a late 1st and 2 2nds. Who else you want, Miami?

I think it had to do with more than just trading Buckner. Like unable to agree on a extension and clearing cap space. 9ers defense has more than enough players to compete in the playoffs. What they don't have is speed on offense.
We've had hella good luck with Jerry's before! Sure why not. This guy would be perfect in Shanny's offense.
Well are we planning for the future when we get rid of someone like Buck, or are we trying to still strike the iron while it's hot with this roster??

I'm leaning towards the latter. That gives me the thought process that they simply don't trust the passing game enough to expect immediate dividends that would replace what Buck would've offered next year.

Now if your mind is on 2-3 yrs from now and see this year as a start from scratch, then I can understand a WR take so early.

What I like about Jeudy is his route running skills. I still don't like Jimmy throwing into tight coverage and JJ seems to excel at getting separation and to a given spot quickly. Predictability is good for Jimmy G!

We need someone to replace the threat that Goodwin gave us.

I think if 49ers were trying to strike while irons hot, why trade one of their best defensive players? How will they improve their team going forward? Just wondering what you think.
