Michael Pittman Jr. WR USC

I think their skill set if fairly similar. Not saying he will become that or anything.

good question lol

I like Pittman, but I think Denzel Mims brings more toughness and explosion. He thrived in the Baylor offense, consistently making contested catches but also with the speed to take it to the house.

Oh I like Mims more...love the value of Pittman say in the 3rd RD though.

i almost added Michael Thomas as your have to have. If you do those 4 as your have to have. That 5th spot really could go to any of a few people and AROB would certainly be in that discussion. I actually think I'd lean towards Keenan Allen as my 5th. But AROB and Devante Adams are both in that discussion. If AJ Green returns healthy?
he seems to be someone that would do better in the pros. his workout stats were high percentile, as in his 20 yard split, 3 cone and 40 were good: https://nflcombineresults.com/playerpage.php?f=Michael&l=Pittman&i=30243
After finishing up his tape, I can say I really do like the kid and would be pumped if we drafted him. I just don't think he's what Kyle wants in a WR. I can't see Pittman dude having to run orbit and jet motions like Kyle has every one of his WRs do. I think he'd be perfect in a vertical attacking scheme like Arian's.

That highlight reel really does not do that QB any favors....90% of those passes were allover the place. That was a whole lot of something out of nothing.

I can really see why you like Robinson tho....
Still my fav wr pick for us after a trade down.

with all the wrs in this draft how the f did you come up with him as your favorite? he's like going to a steak house and ordering a meatloaf.

i like meatloaf just as much as the next guy but not choosing it over a steak
I like other Wr's, but not for us as much especially having to burn a high pick. I liked what I saw of Pittman. I wanted a bigger WR with a big catch radius and could go up and get the ball. I wasn't sold though. Then I saw him practice at the senior bowl. He ran routes better than I expected. i was hooked more when i heard his interview of what a great kid he was passionate about football and a hard worker. I knew that would fit what Lynch wanted. i wasn't sure he fit what Shanny wants. Then came the combine and he had great numbers there. He hit all the numbers Shanny would look for. We want to trade down for more picks and can still grab a good WR in round 2. if it turns out SF likes one of the top 3 more, i'm good with one of them. Pittman is just great value and allows us to grab a CB or T first.

hey, we all like what we like. have our own reasons for liking (or not liking) prospects. Very sound logic behind your reasoning.

I am not a big proponent of the 40 time per say,

but......

I do think MPH out of the 40 is VERY telling

Mimms exits the 40 over 20 mph. 20.26 and still accelerating. That is NFL levels of ELITE.

Massive Deep Threat with that stride.

For Perspective

We know Henry Ruggs hit 24.3 MPH against South Carolina on a deep TD.

But he "only...lol" exits the 40 at 19.16.

Pittman at 18.18, is tied with Lamb, and behind Jeudy 18.83

for reference:

Bosa 17.08
Kittle at 18.1
Deebo Samuel at 18.26,
Goodwin at 19.16.

Pittman does not have legit elite NFL deep speed, maybe sneaky deep speed, but not challenge defense snap in and snap out kind of stuff.
