To keep this draft specific, how does Moores talent/potential compare to this draft class?

Moore is an elite athlete with crazy length. He just needs more coaching and reps (at one spot).

Ward has been amazing back there this yr. takes great angles and is a elite tackler.

Is Moore the long term answer at FS, or do the Niners need to use their minimal top draft capital on the position?

I'm all for BPA, but I am hoping for IOL or WR depth at the top of the Niners draft board, especially if they believe in Moores potential

Moore has great range and I think good ball skills, but I definitely question his tackling across the board -- he is aggressive, but he doesn't consistently wrap up and other times takes terrible angles. Small sample size though, and to be fair, it's usually just a small handful of bonehead plays in an otherwise good game he's had.

Definitely could be better, but he SHOULD be better going into year 3. Nothing wrong with drafting a guy high to push him and compete for that starting spot. Every position needs to be earned. I think he's good enough to start though.

I think we should go with the best player available between DE, WR, IOL, CB, S, or LB. All of those areas could use improved quality of depth at the very least.

Yeah it's weird because I think he was actually looked at as a good tackler in college. I agree BPA should be the way to go, trade down at all cost though.
This was Moore's first year back at FS, so taking some bad angles or messing up some coverages is expected. Not wrapping up isn't good, though.

I think he's good enough to give us some flexibility in the draft, but I don't think he's so good that we'd pass on a guy like McKinney if he's the BPA when we're on the clock.
will this guy be available at 31?
Probably not.
It's pretty clear to me that we need a difference maker somewhere in the secondary. That's the perfect compliment to your pass rush. A guy who will make them pay with INTs if the QB just chucks the ball up while under pressure.

I could see that player being a CB or a Safety. In some ways I think a safety makes more sense because they will patrol more of the field.

Among three current mocks at NFL.com, the lowest they have him is at 23 to the Patriots. Daniel Jeremiah has him gone at 15. So, no, he won't be there.

Delpit is the more likely target. One of those three have him dropping to us at #31.

boy I keep seeing mocks were he's the pick for SF. End of the day I see a trade

I agree. I don't see Delpit, if he is there at #31, to be the best value over an IOL like Damien Lewis who is mocked as a mid-2. Some mocks even have C Tyler Biadasz available in the 3rd. Unless Ward leaves, I don't see a safety as the BPA at 31. Move down and grab a G and C for the 31 value.

I keep seeing the image of Mike Person being dominated by Chris Jones as Jones swatted another pass out of the air. I don't ever want to see that again. PAIN!

Man Xavier is good Imo. Delpit has Eric berry upside too.

I just think this draft is so deep that if they can grab some day 2 picks they will be in a good place.

Hennessy out of temple is a guy I like in say the 3rd rd. He graded out as one of the best pass-blockers in college this yr. he seems like a scheme specific IOL which drops him.
He ran a 4.63 40 yard Dash
I believe he should be able to do much better on his Pro-Day
however he no longer is the top Safety no matter how much he can improve his straight-line speed on his Pro-Day

With a 4.64, I think he'll be around late 2nd to early 3rd.
