Justin Jefferson WR LSU

I don't think this guy's script lines up with the highlights he's showing. He's talking about Jefferson making spectacular catches, and most of the clips are of him making a back shoulder catch. He says that Jefferson can run by anyone he lines up against, but the clips show him getting tracked down and tackled.

I think Jefferson is going to be a productive receiver, and I think Mike Thomas is a good comp. I don't think he's the best WR in the class, though, and I have questions about how effective he'd be as an outside guy in SF.

Slot this, slot that. Talking heads say slot so he must only be a slot.

Perhaps LSU moved him to the slot last year because thats where they wanted their best WR to be in the scheme?

With his speed, route running, and body control he'll be fine on the outside.

Let's also not forget Joe Burrow wasn't Joe Burrow when Jefferson was on the outside.

Ja'Marr Chase wasn't playing in the slot.

Ok trade down to 20 or 21 and draft Jefferson. And if he is gone then we draft a CB/T/DT and hope a WR we like is there at #31 with the boatloads of other teams wanting to draft a WR in that tier. I don't think any of the 2nd tier WRs are worth #20/21 other than Jefferson.

This is the danger in trading back and not just taking the WR at #13 IF they are super high on one of the top 3 WR.

Well, TBH not going to lie, I'm starting to get a little leery of trading down. As i've been reading on other teams boards (though their "insiders") that Raegor is also climbing into the mid 20 discussions.

Which means we would have to go Jefferson/Raegor at the 21-22 area. Which to me, wouldn't be horrible. As I believe we could get the exact same production from him (or Jefferson/Mims/Aiyuk//Duvernay/Bowden/Higgins) as we could the top 3. When you consider we are just looking for a 3rd option.

On the flip side, if more 2nd tier WRs are going in the 1st. That pushes more non WR talent to us at 31. So it would actually even itself out from that perspective.

I would feel A LOT better about trading down if we virtually talk to Higgins and Aiyuk.
I don't see us using # 13 on him but if we trade back to the late teens or early 20s I would be all for taking him at that spot.

I honestly don't, we have slot guys who can work the middle of the field and make contested catches.

We need a guy who can win outside the numbers and downfield. Someone who can spread the field out and push a safety his way.

Depends on how far you would trade down, of course. A draft capital loaded team like the Broncos might be fixated on a WR and would be willing to give back our 3rd rounder to move up and get their guy. #15 probably gets you a player in the same tier as #13.

Not at 13 but in a small trade down o would be happy

Whats up with the Michael Thomas comparisons?

The LSU OC came from NO and ysed Jefferson the exact same way NO used Thomas.

Which IMO i xan see it
Michael Thomas is bigger than Justin Jefferson.
Night before the draft, and Daniel Jeremiah mocked him to us. Why is he a sleeper? I'm getting this weird feeling that hes the guy

If he is hopefully we can trade back a couple spots and get him.

I don't think he's faster than Jefferson, though.

Manningham is the one.

A bigger faster Manningham would be actually an awesome WR. As long as he could stay healthy that is.
