Tyler Johnson WR Minnesota

Arguably the most slept on receiver in college football. The guy deserves a lot more air time than he gets. People are starting to talk about his teammate, Rashod Bateman, but this guy has an unmatched level of consistency.

Through 39 games at Minnesota, He's caught 177 balls for 2717 yards and 28 TDs

Unfortunately, I couldn't find how many career drops he has, but in the Penn St game he looked like a vacuum with stickum and a lil gorilla glue on top of that. He's a larger WR standing at 6'2" 207 pounds and looks like he can create separation through his route running and short area quickness. I think this is exactly what this wide receiving core needs, a consistent hands catching YAC guy. I'll drop his highlights down below.https://www.youtube.com/watch?

He reminds me a lot of Jordy Nelson back in college. High quality route runner, good awareness of what the defense is trying to do, will sellout for catches across the middle. He's had some issues with drops but mostly is pretty aggressive about attacking the football in the air and showing strong hands. Not super athletic but his route running allows him to create separation and get behind a defense.
Good at contested catches no doubt but the question is why does he have to make so many contested catches. He's not going to get faster or more explosive in the NFL
I've seen him mocked to the niners, have to see more of him but I know his hype is real high as of now.

I think the 40 is gonna make or break his draft stock. He checks all the other boxes I think.
I was just gonna put up a thread of him outside of top end speed he's got Shanny written all over him.

One of the best route-runner in this class
His hands are getting better (had drops in the past)
Not afraid to get hit or block.
separates

I've seen him comped to Davante Adams (spot on) he should test similar. Adams was a late 2nd rd pick and I expect Johnson to be around there as well.

Kyle comps him to Tyler Boyd which I can see as well...

Cross-racial player comparison. My mind can't comprehend this
Another monster game from this kid!
