Ah, so it's top heavy with 5-7 and then evens out after that?

I referenced Thorn above because he's the OL guru.

I like what Ezra Cleveland has shown on tape and combine. He could be groom to be Staley's heir.

I was gonna bring his name up. He's a day 3 guy worth checking out.

If we're looking at upgrading IOL imo it's not amazing.

Yes, there's probably about 6 or so OTs that can start this yr. which is pretty good considering how the draft ad been at OT in the past. I don't see any of those dudes making it to us.

IOL is where we want to focus (I thought). There's some dudes, just not real studs imo.

Yeah Crabbs only has 15 or so total going in the first 150. Mostly 2nd-3rd grouped together. That implies more developmental time, I would imagine.
I like Nick Harris from Washington. He is a center only prospect but he has quick feet and can move around. His frame is on the smaller side. I think he will go in rounds 4-6 but he is a scheme fit that can navigate in space. I would definitely take a flyer on him with the Richburg injury woes.

I noticed him often as well during combine drills.

Harris in the 4th would be highway robbery he's only gonna fit in a zone scheme and is what kyle loves.

Harris got a lot of negative review based on his size and Senior Bowl performance. Any chance he's their in the 5th round?

I mean he didn't do well in one on ones. He's gonna have both guards helping him in real football.

I can't see him lasting until the 5th. I think he's still a top 100 prospect
😂 😂

Unless chase youmg is available we have to go ol.

Obviously I'd be elated adding top capital to the OL but we must remember, this is Kyle. His M.O. is to spend highly at T and C and "make due" with the G position. Even after costing us a Superbowl, I doubt his philosophy has changed. He probably won't look for the next McGlinchey until he knows for sure when Staley will retire. But when he does, it'll definitely be a first round pick. He was hoping Staley, McGlinchey and Richburg would be cornerstones for 5+ years.

Considering where we are, there are very few positions where a rookie has a legitimately have a chance to start. I see guard as one of them. If we trade down (because I don't see Kyle using a 1st with no other picks until day 3 on a guard) and can pick up say 3 day two picks, I think if a top guard was available, Kyle would take him. Unless we are going to employ Kansas City pass protection techniques (mugging), we have to buy Jimmy more time in the pocket- especially if we want to call longer developing pass plays.

I can certainly see that as well in that scenario. I don't care how they do it...just shore up the IOL pass protection.

If they feel they already have the talent and put in extra focus on it this off season, fine. If they don't feel they have the talent because of skill set and/or injury history, go get it...through FA or the draft.

There's no bigger need IMHO. Then ER and WR.
