Devin Duvernay-WR-Texas

At the NFL Combine, players get an opportunity to meet with a plethora of teams. One of the players that will be speaking to a variety of teams will be Texas wide receiver Devin Duvernay. According to Texans Wire Editor Mark Lane, Duvernay is already seeing plenty of action in those meetings.

The teams that Duvernay has met with:

San Francisco 49ers
New York Giants
Houston Texans
New England Patriots (Prior to NFL Combine)

Yaaas!
Looking at these highlights, I can see what Kyle was talking about when he look at WR and judge how they would be against press coverage. You can't, because they played off coverage so much. The receivers get free release off the line more often than not.
How many freaking quality WRS are in this draft????

Yeah he's not gonna play on the outside. He's a role specific guy. He's gotta play in the slot in off coverage. His speed will help push the safety his way and kyle can scheme up some stuff to help get YAC.

I like him as a day 3 dude if we miss out on some of the better prospects
I don't think we have room for two receivers picked in the first four rounds but if for some reason the draft shakes out where we don't pick one up in the first couple of rounds then this my guy. Sub 4.4 speed with a big strong frame and some nastiness. Just fits perfectly with our teams identity. Typical draft would have this guy going In a reach end of second round or first half of the third round to a wr needy team. So many quality receivers out there that somebody like this could slip to the fourth round maybe even the fifth. Pretty high ceiling for a day three pick.

I absolutely think we have room for 2 in the 1st 4 rounds. Goodwin and Pettis have been on the block. That leaves you Deebo, Bourne, Hurd basically. Not too mention everyone is talking about upgrading the passing game by simply just replacing Sanders. IT will be the same the same thing just swapping out 1 receiver for another.

I think we need 2 guys. We need that sure hand possession guy and a big play guy. While IMO the top 3 offers at least one of those traits none of them IMO offers both.

Getting a 2nd tier guy plus a Bowden/Duvernay/Ty Johnson etc... would be ideal IMO. A guy like Duvernay offers some big play ability and some possession reliability kind of traits. Not great at either but adequate at both. While offering enough in both to be a nice chess piece for Kyle.

And he works the area of the field that our QB uses the most.

Out of Goodwin, Pettis, James, and Taylor I am figuring at least one of them will step up this year so that does leave two spots technically available so two wrs I guess is viable but with our limited draft capitol and need to upgrade or gain depth elsewhere I would probably spread it around. I would rather put the pick into safety, corner, OL, and TE. But if the draft shakes out where we end up going with two then it is going to be one hell of a training camp battle at wr. Teams will be watching our waiver wire. I think if we get a wr in the first we are done. If we choose to address later then we may get a couple and have this receiver battle royale in training camp.

if done right you can do both. Can't fill all needs. I get that. But if done right we can come away with more than our current situation suggests
Crazy player. No one tackles him, and he catches everything.

Looks like an st player or a much more durable substitute for trent taylor.

Give that man a yoga class. You can see how tight his hips are on the couple moves they showed in the clips.

He doesn't look 5'11 in the clips.
