Lamar Jackson-CB-Nebraska

BIG and long CB prospect with great ups. Very physical defensive back that has caught my attention a few times when watching Nebraska. He's shown some real improvement in his awareness and willingness to go attack the football in coverage. He'd be an ideal fit for more of a zone coverage scheme like the 49ers run. I've found that he's largely been overlooked as a prospect but the size, length, coverage skills and physicality are all quite intriguing. He'll be playing at the EW Shrine Game later on this week. He's also a Nor Cal native from the Sacramento area so that never hurts.

Would LOVE to get this guy !! But, we don't have the draft capital to get him (2nd.-4th. rd. picks). If we can trade down and acquire more pics, then by all means..

Nice prospect
He looks really good and seems to have some good ball skills. Kind of a ball hawk with length, size and speed. You can never overlook somebody like that.
Love it Phoenix! Initially this kid reminded me of Stanley Jean-baptiste for obvious reasons. Obviously he didn't really pan out but I do think Jackson has the potential to be better. Would love this kid to be groomed by Sherman
Showed at the Senior Bowl that he is clearly not suited for a primary man coverage scheme. Draft stock may have taken a bit of a hit but that could also help the 49ers odds because for what they ask from their CBs, he fits reasonably well.

The size and length are definitely legit.

Where is this kid projected to go?

The 49ers hopefully.

Anywhere from Rounds 3 to 5.
What's his tackling like? I think this regime needs to take a page out of the hoodie's book and begin by focusing on tackling when evaluating CB prospects.

Inconsistent when it comes to his technique. The desire is definitely there but from what I saw, he likes to try and unload on guys too often rather than just wrapping up.
Had a pretty meh week in mobile
