Well he's supposed to be a good punt cover guy. So he has that going for him. If it was based off of just being a WR. I wouldn't put much money on him either.

Pretty violent player. We need that on the field.
Not comparing him to Randy Moss but his mannerisms and build reminds me of him. He goes up and gets the ball with the best of them. The speed is lacking but I think he can be a big time red zone target. Great pick on the 7th round.

Jennings is a bad dude.

He is a 6-4 200 pound dude, who beat up...robbed then vandalized a 150 pound kids car. Followed that with a drug arrest, Then raised hell when the Vols would not START HIM at QB, walked out on the team and then engaged in a social media war. Sure he went on his "Second Chance tour" since he was now a new guy....and ended it by stomping on a defenseless players face with his cleats.

The dude has been arrested twice already and he has only gotten away with it because of the football program.

He is absolutely a bad guy, and the only reason he has a chance at life is he is incredibly athletically gifted. His issues are of his own making....no one has done anything to this dude....he has brought all his BS on himself.

Its a 7th rounder, he is a good pick up as a 7th rounder....but I hope everyone realizes this is much more likely to end up with him on a police blotter then not. There is almost no way he does not continue to run in to trouble with the law now that he actually has money in his pocket.

I hope he finds god, and gets his s**t in order....he is a hell of a football player.....much MUCHHH better then most 7th rounders have a right to be.

I think you're going way into hyperbole with this. He got into something with someone at a graduation party when he was 17, acted like an idiot, later admitted to it, took the blame and moved on.

Jennings has neither been arrested nor formally charged. He does not turn 18 until next month, so he'd likely be charged as a juvenile should he face formal charges.

The report cited an affidavit of complaint filed in Wilson County.

Jennings pushed an Oakland High School student twice, "causing pain to his neck and back and placing him in fear for his safety," the student said, according to the complaint. As the student tried to leave the party, Jennings threw a rock that damaged the hood and windshield of the car and took a cell phone, jacket and arm brace from the vehicle, according to the complaint.

He got pulled over when he was 19 and cited with misdemeanor possession of pot after a police officer found a single baggie, the charge was later dismissed.

Beyond that, he got dumped by Hoke and Currie, two guys who themselves got dumped just weeks later. There was a pattern at the program where it wasn't just Jennings but several players criticizing both coaches and the admin for various issues. Was John Kelly being immature when he stated that he wanted the next coaching staff to be "honest?" Brett Kendrick playing with a concussion, all the issues that happened with Hurd. There were problems there brewing for a few years so was it immature for Jennings to go on Instagram and light people up? Absolutely. Was is it ridiculous to blame a 20 year old for that while ignoring all the f**kups that were happening under the watch of grown-ass adults like Hoke and Currie? All of a sudden after that Instagram video you had anonymous sources coming out of the woodwork, attacking Jennings as a bad teammate, a bad person period and alluding to all sorts of things coming out of left field. It was Baalke level stuff where they decided to dump everything on him and it still didn't end up saving their jobs.

Tennessee running back John Kelly wants the next coach of the Volunteers to be truthful.

As Tennessee prepares for its first game under interim coach Brady Hoke following the firing of Butch Jones, Kelly was asked what traits he was looking for in the Vols' next head coach.

"Somebody who's going to be honest," Kelly said. "Honesty, that's really just the most important thing to me."

Writers Trey Wallace and Oliver Connolly state Tennessee right tackle Brett Kendrick played with a concussion during for more than half of last Saturday's game with Kentucky. They have a couple of shots of Kendrick getting beat on plays on their website, and it is confirmed Kendrick has a concussion.

Hurd also alluded to the issues going on at Tennessee when asked about what was different at Baylor.

"They're straight up, so I respect that 100 percent," Hurd added. "They've been straight up with me since the day I stepped on this campus. That's what you want as a player, for someone to be straight up with you. They run a straight ship here, so I respect that."

Pruitt comes in, Fulmer is the AD and suddenly Jennings is a model teammate, a team leader and graduating on time. Did he have a full transformation or was part of the problem with the repeatedly fired Hoke and Currie?

If you want to talk real bad guys, look at people like Frank Clark who beat the hell out of a woman in a hotel room or Tyreek Hill who punched his pregnant girlfriend and tried to push her down the stairs. Thus far to me Jennings seems like a hothead that might be overly emotional and needs to get that under control but he's hardly some criminal mastermind. He's made mistakes and he needs to do better but I'm less worried about his character than dudes that are constantly getting into off the field issues, assaulting women....etc. Hopefully he grows in maturity and acts with more stability on and off the field and if he doesn't, then it is just a 7th rounder that you invested.

Like you say....its a 7th rounder....and a well spent 7th round pick

Either he caused his problems on his own

Or

He is woefully misunderstood and just happenstance has put him in the wrong place at the wrong time several times over.

Either way, I suspect we will continue this conversation during the next run in with the law, I think he has the talent to be on this football team for a very long time.

Or we won't ....because he never gets in trouble again.

Like I said, I don't like the dude.....but he was a hell of a 7th rounder. If he matured faster of if Tenn had done a better job of covering up his issues we would never have had a shot at the guy. He is a great football player.

There is no denying his talent. In a perfect world Chris Carter will find this guy and he turns into a great human being. I hope that happens, I hope he turns a page and realizes that he has an opportunity to make Millions of dollars and change his family forever.

He bobbles the ball too often when he is making a catch. Outside of that and his conditioning issues .....its hard to fault him as a WR. Considering his snap count...he has a hell of a highlight reel.

If he gives 100% of his effort to his future, I think he is going to be sticky, and makes it hard for the coaching staff to let him go.

He reminds me of TO....your not 100% sure he will make the catch...but if he does....watch out.

TO - 34.5" arms, 10.5" hands, could run in the 4.4-4.5 range as a player (hand timed at 4.43 at age 44).

JJ - 31 5/8" arms, 9" hands

TO had a great combination of size, length, and speed even though he was a late bloomer physically. JJ is a bully playing WR but he's slow with short arms and baby hands. He's never going to be anything like TO as a player.

RIP Richie James.

As has been said this is insurance for Hurd and make no mistake a clear message to Pettis.

What is the chance we try to make Jenning a TE??

Jennings is not T.O., who is, but he's pretty damned good at what he does. He has the potential to kill it in Kyle's offense.

i was referring to semi dependable hands.....

He is not a sure catcher...he bobbles the ball on catches.

Im not all that impressed with his "highlight" reels TBH.

I wanted a big slot WR and we drafted one. I think we may have been better off with Hunter Bryant as our 5th/6th "WR" to play big slot.

Jennings just does nothing for me.
