Ben Bartch, OT, St. John's (Minn.) (6-6, 308)It is impossible to understate the uptick in competition from Division III to the competition in Mobile this week. But Bartch not only looked like he belonged, but he was also arguably the highest-performing offensive tackle throughout the week. The former tight end is very light on his feet and was rarely stressed by edge speed. That athleticism was expected, but I was eager to see how he would hold up from a power perspective, and he exceeded expectations with his upper-body and hand strength.

Steven Montez is running away with the ball and I can't turn the camera away from Ben Bartch putting Kinlaw down. #SeniorBowl pic.twitter.com/63PsO4rejo

A few random thoughts from day two of practice, in no particular order.

1- Ben Bartch is going to go way, WAY earlier than people think. He's been the best OT down here in Mobile. Very patient, good (enough) kick slide to get depth, great hands and recovery skills. Finisher.
St. John's OT Ben Bartch is the best/most effortless mover among the South OL. Light on his feet and almost glides through pass pro indy #SeniorBowl

Nice job by Ben Bartch against Terrell Lewis. Hand placement and that punch just ended the fight pic.twitter.com/PSGIrIvjNL

Saint John's OL Ben Bartch says Ali Marpet has been a great role model for him. Also mentioned he prefers zone schemes because of the communication aspect with his fellow OL. #WNSDraft #TheDraftStartsInMOBILE pic.twitter.com/tlFiqzLXWz
