And for your top choice, who would you have picked instead?

I mean.... I don't see how any fan of any of those 12 teams could not say, "I wish we'd taken Mahomes instead of whatever player"
The fact that Thomas has been underwhelming so far makes it even more so for us. And that's not a knock on Jimmy, who I think is great.
DJ Chark over Dante Pettis is a pretty easy one.
And while I know this is a divisive take here on the zone... I still think Chauncey Gardner-Johnson would have been a much better pick than any punter could ever be. Yeah... I know Wish is a great punter but I just don't think the gap between him and all the other undrafted punters in the league is good enough to justify passing on a starting safety when that was a team need. The ripple effect could easily be passing on a great WR to draft a safety at 32 this year. Many of you feel differently and that's fine. Certainly given where the team is at it's not something I'm hung up about.
Also I'm sure there are a dozen picks we should have made over Foster.

Considering I think we all thought Solly, Foster, and Pettis would've been way better players they top the list obviously but my main choice is Witherspoon only bc Kamara was my favorite RB in the draft and he was taken the next pick and I believe the niners also traded the pick to the saints.

lol this.
As far as redrafting, it depends on what someone is willing to give up. This team got the #2 pick by a hair last year, it took a completely unlikely chain of events for it to happen as it is so if you're willing to lose out on Bosa, have at it.
I can think of several players they could have picked that would have turned out better than Thomas or Froster but would that be worth giving up on having the opportunity to select a cornerstone edge rusher like Bosa? I dunno. I''ll take everything that came before to wind up with guys like Bosa and Deebo.
With as loaded as this upcoming draft is at WR, I definitely would have passed on Hurd last year and moved up a few spots to take Juan Thornhill to improve safety depth. Instead of Harris, the 49ers would have had Thornhill as the backup and future starter. In the 4th, instead of trading down and taking Wishnowsky, I would have stood pat and taken Maxx Crosby to greatly improve the edge rotation.

After reading the list of candidates, I had to check the date of this thread. Then I checked it again. Not really sure if this is a serious question.

I think it is misunderstanding of the title.... taken as "who on this list was most valuable and worth the top pick in our set of picks" Hence McGlinchey was at the top

Wrong. McGlinchey is the choice cause people want Jaire Alexander.

I wanted Jamal Adams over Salmon Thomas but everyone kept saying you don't draft a safety at 3 so whatever

McGlinchey is a good player and does not belong on this list.

Instead of trading for #31 (Reuben Foster), you trade for 29 and take TJ Watt.
"Wisconsin pass-rusher T.J. Watt was of particular interest", King wrote regarding the team's morning meeting in which they discussed candidates for their second-round pick, the 34th overall. He noted, as the 49ers did, that "there was a good chance he'd be gone by the end of round one".
New General Manager John Lynch seemed to be a particularly big fan. "Let's throw up T.J. real quick and start watching him", he said at one point, according to King. "Let's see how passionate we get. I know what I think. Contagious competitiveness. Football passion".
"Lynch loved him", King wrote. "It was clear he could be a candidate through a trade late in round one, or at 34".

There's so many.
Wanted Earl Thomas over Anthony Davis
Wanted Tyrann Mathieu in the 2nd
wanted TJ Watt
But ultimately everything worked out, we got Bosa and are now in the Superbowl
