Josiah Deguara-TE/FB-Cincinnati

Had himself a good week at the Senior Bowl. Versatile, hard nosed and a guy who clearly loves to play the game and brings top notch intensity consistently. He could come in and compete as a special teamer while providing depth at TE and potentially transitioning to FB down the road.

Looks very promising
His expected range is somewhere in that later 5th-6th round area, but yes, looking at the potential "Juice" type players in this class he's one of the better ones it seems. Although, admittedly, there aren't a lot of guys that really fit that mold. You've got some true FBs, and then just plain undersized TEs that aren't the best blockers. Joey Magnifico from Memphis, for example.

Granted, I haven't heavily scouted fullbacks, but off-hand it seems like Taumoepenu and Deguara would be the top two versatile H-back/FB types in this class.

Looks like the ideal fit to replace Toilolo or Dwelley.

Toilolo blocks like a tackle. Kyle used him instead of bringing in an extra lineman. His spot is safe.
Having himself a very good Combine. Teams even had him doing some RB drills. He's an easy conversion to FB much like Juice was.

true
A Juice clone !
Idk if the team is prioritizing this, but I would love a true back-up fullback that can play ST, some TE, etc.

Why would Dwelley be replaced?

He's a very eager blocker so that right there would put him in Shanahan's good graces. The versatility is a bonus. He can pitch in at TE and at special teams and eventually develop as a replacement for Juice.
Scoot over i'm jumping on this bandwagon.

Then he signed with the Giants.

I really like him, plus he's a local NorCal guy too.
Gonna end up being a great value pick for us should we make this move. Sixth or seventh?
