I don't think that's true at all. This draft is flush with WR talent and that's gonna drop dudes like Edwards.

I don't really care about needs with this roster. They're in a position to go BPA and if that happens to be a WR so be it.

Agree. I mean, if you look at the list of receivers this year, you've got around 20-25 players that look like they belong somewhere in the top 4 rounds. On average, if I recall right, I think most drafts feature around 30 WRs selected, plus or minus a couple (last year it was 28). Part of the biggest help to me in being able to predict draft slots and why I've had such success in getting the exact pick-slot # right often times, is looking at that historical data and projecting from there.

This year, I feel like there will without question be 30+ receivers taken. Don't want to speak too soon with the combine still yet to arrive, but it would not shock me if this class has upwards of 35+ WRs selected. I've watched a lot of WR footage over the past few months, and by my eyes, there's probably 40-50 draft worthy receivers who would probably get picked in other drafts with less depth.

Yeah everyone knew this draft class was gonna be special at WR (next yr as well). That's why I kinda questioned doubling up at WR last yr.

End of the day they'd be dumb not to tap into this WR crop. I want Sanders to stay BUT if his contract kills resigning AA then I'm against it.

Pretty much exactly where I'm at.
Bummer really wanted to see his 40

I see a guy like this fairly high on our needs list. And in a draft this deep with quality receivers we cannot afford to miss out.

Yikes. That's unfortunate. I think Edwards is a good bet to be more than likely a third round guy with an outside shot at a team that loves him and looks past the negatives taking him sooner.

The one thing that makes me wonder if we'd NOT be interested is the reported knock that he's not that interested in blocking and lacks effort in that area.

One of my favorite late day 2-day 3 WR (along with Pittman)

Same. Was that Jimmy throwing the ball?
Does have issues beating press and there's some health issues. That's why he's a 3rd rd guy.

Another example of the lack of knowledge about how the Niners draft...it's all Lamb, Jeudy or Ruggs in the majority of mocks. For sure, Edwards will have a big-time advocate in Deebo. He seems to have a lot of the traits Shanahan covets in a WR.

There's a ton of decent to good WR prospects outside of the top 3...the top 3 are blue chip guys though. All depends what you want. You want to keep throwing 2nd and 3rds at the position or do you want to get what most would say is the best of the best out of this draft and have that position good to go long-term?

If this team was rebuilding or had a ton of massive holes & and a bunch of old players, I would say maybe not going WR at 13. Overall we have one of the youngest teams in football. They most certainly aren't rebuilding.
If we dont go WR at 13 or 31 i wouldnt mind targeting Edwards day 2 or day 3 assuming we get a trade back.

He is projected to go where we dont currently have any picks.
