DE Penn State Yetur Gross-Matos

2nd best pass rusher in this class who also plays the run very well, there are only 2 players who i think can realistically fall in the 49ers laps that I would take and not trade down and recoup picks bc I think they will be superstars, Delpit and this man, great size at 6'5 265, very quite and underrated, reminds me of Aldon Smith, hopefully smarter but not just the 99 number, the speed and power combined, has OL on their heels every down, wins with his hands. A scenario of him there at 31 Woukd be amazing bc he would be in the same situation as Aldon also, no need to rush him, and next year Ford is cut and that money saved goes to Buckner, perfect scenario IMO

He's definitely intriguing.
Honestly I haven't watched much of the higher projected edge guys because I just don't see them drafting yet another DL. I'd be shocked if they went that direction with their first pick.
If he's there at 31, yes. Especially bc then we can get rid of Ford and have some more cap flexibility like you said.

Same here but if this kid is there at 31, it would be hard to pass up on him, would be a major steal IMO

Exactly, I think Ford is gone next offseason no matter what but having this kid to step up and save the cap money like you said would be great

Yeah I'll have to actually watch some of him lol (mostly been later rd prospects). I find it highly unlikely that they would go in that direction...only way I see them going edge early is if they cut Ford and I don't see that happening this yr.

I'd hope someone would want to move up for him at that point.

You say reminds you of Aldon Smith but hopefully smarter. For his sake I hope he is. Actually Aldon's problem wasn't that he wasn't smart. He had that horrible disease that's ruined so many athletic careers. Alcoholism. Get well Aldon.
no way this dude is there at 31

Yea, would be hard to pass up.

If he's there I'm calling up teams that want a 5th yr option for a EDGE rusher.

Most mocks I've seen have him long gone. If he's as good as what I'm reading and there, screw it. Can never have enough good ERs

I'm seeing comps to Carlos Dunlap.

I just seen that comp on NFL DRAFT NETWORK, not a bad comparison, Dunlap had a nice career, but I think he exceeds that.
Wow, that's a mighty impressive highlight reel. When the video starts with an overpowering hump move, you've got my attention. Time to peel back the onion.

Right off the bat, the first comp the immediately comes to mind is Preston Smith. Their frames are identical, similar stride movements, very handsy with their moves, etc.
