Hurd is quicker. He ran like a 7.0 3-cone which is good for a 6-5 225 WR. He was a top recruit as a RB which requires good footwork and vision.
Where did you hear Hurd ran a 7.0 3-cone?
He didn't run the 3-cone at the combine or pro day.
NFL.com says this: "Leggy with below-average short-area quickness"
He did run a slow 40 and a slow 10 yd split at his pro day:
40 Yard Dash: 4.64 seconds
10 Yard Split: 1.62 seconds

Hurd seems to be a reach ... he was projected in the ~5th rd
49ers should have picked Maxx Crosby (who I loved)
or traded up for DK Metcalf who was selected 3 picks before Hurd
He was just coming back from a knee injury for his pro-day.

He squatted more than 500 pounds, and his vertical jump was 40 inches (this year's NFL combine-best was 41.5). His 40 time was consistently in the 4.4 range, and his 20-yard shuttle—the one combine test scouts say is a critical predictor for skill players' change of direction and explosion—was 3.8 and 3.9 (the recent best is 3.81 in 2006).
"Wait, don't put that in the story because we'll look stupid," Cooper says.
But he ran 3.8?
"He absolutely did," Cooper says.
