Just wondering.... If Cleveland calls and said they'd trade OBJ to us for the #13 pick, would you do it???

Nope

I disagree...

HELL to the NOPE

#31..yes

If he's willing to rework his contract maybe.

For the 31st pick in a heartbeat, no questions asked.

Then with 13 trade back for a later 1st and maybe a 3rd and pick up a CB and OT.

Who are you cutting to bring OBJ in here?

You realize he's got a contract in place right?

First of all I put it right there in the post for you or anyone else going to the "Mahomes"

Alex Smith with Tyreek Hill was one of the top QBs that season with some of the biggest plays. Smith's arm isn't any better than Jimmy's.

You don't need a Mahomes to take advantage of deep speed like that. Sure having a guy like Mahomes REALLY makes guys like Hill, Ruggs dangerous because the QB can just launch the ball and those guys can run up to them.

I'm confident Jimmy has enough arm to utilize that type of speed, especially with Kyle's play design.

And blaming Rugg's lack of catches/production as a way of diminishing his speed is silly. Bama was stacked at WR his whole career there

Calvin Ridley, Irv Smith Jr, Jeudy, Devonta Smith...only so many catches to go around.

Ruggs isn't Marquise Goodwin. He has the speed but he also runs a full route tree, gets production all over the place when he gets the ball and has made the most of his catches with great hands.

People acting like Ruggs isn't a polished WR just because he's fast aren't looking at him enough.

I'm not saying Ruggs has bad hands or poor moves. I only said that in reference to why the really fast guys haven't produced as much as their speed would dictate. I just think Jeudy is a little better and apparently they did at Alabama too. He had nearly twice as many catches as Ruggs did in his SR. year.

That said, I would be happy with Ruggs but I doubt either one of them will be there when we pick. Both the Jets and Raiders could grab either one of them before #13. We can hope there is the usual run on QBs and O tackles are high on teams' list this year too so maybe one slips into our hands. Jeudy, Ruggs or Lamb would all be great. Even if we trade back alittle to get a later 1st and get a 2nd or 3rd rounder, we can still get a good receiver that can help this team.

Did Pascagoula beat yall?

Yeah..... they went 14-0 (took state) and then 10-2 the following year. I don't remember the score just we that we needed a TD at the end to win it.

I'm not in the financial department, I'm a fan that wants that s**t to happen.

OBJ is about 15 million a year, hmmm... We have about 16 million in space.

Trade or cut Goodwin would be a good starting point, saving us about 5 million?

I don't know,

I don't know,

In the last 3 seasons, Goodwin had 1 1000 yd. year (including rushing), OBJ had 2 with only a handful of yards more per. Not since 2016 before his first serious injury has OBJ had a superior season. Awful expensive for a whole lotta hope. I can hope in the draft a lot cheaper.

Ruggs gonna be what Shanny wanted Goodwin to be in this offense but with a cheaper price tag

He was terrible last year. Somehow made it to 1000yds, 4TDS...pathetic. Was outperformed by Landry all year.
OBJ may still be a good receiver but he's been in the league for a few years now and between the wear and tear and the injuries he likely isn't what he was when he first hit the the league. he;s also proved to be kind of a pain in the ass so I wouldn't want him on my team. better to go with someone younger and cheaper. Even if he signed a 1 year bargain deal he wouldn't be happy and would cause internal problems.
I see we now have 2 separate threads on the 13th pick. Why?

Hopefully we pick the right guy at 13, unless we trade down, which is possible too.

With 3 threads and all of our KNOWLEDGABLE input, how can they miss.

Ruggs and Juedy Seem really similar to me. I haven't seen video of either of them making a bunch of contested catches but Ruggs has a few that I saw that were pretty impressive. Tough to know if either of them fall to us.
