Understanding your window is very important. We have multiple big contracts we have to dish out soon. It's not unreasonable to make cap room then come back in 2021 to make a real push.
what are you talking about

Unless there's something I am missing I don't see him or Brown being available.

Brown no but think of it this way, if the board falls like this:
3 QBs
3 OTs
4 elite defenders (Chase, Ohio St CB who I can't spell his name, Isiah, Brown)
That leaves 2 spots left with zero WRs even listed or a big reach accounted for. We could easily see 2 WRs taken leaving us with a choice between Kinlaw and one of the top 3 WRs left for us to pick from.

It depends if there's a run on WRs in the top 12 - if they go, Brown and Kinlaw should be available.

I realize it wasn't the intent, but the ESPN story that ran on Kinlaw today didn't really do him any favors in my mind. Seems like the kid had a brutal upbringing and I respect that he battled through, but the story kind of paints him as a guy who can get lazy and lose focus.
I'd be scared as hell to give him a multi-million dollar contract and expect him to stay committed.
I'mout on him big time

I didn't see the story but I would think someone who has been through some chit would definitely not want to blow it. A rookie contract for a DT picked at 13 is pretty good money...but it doesn't compare with a 2nd contract that player would get if he played well...see Buckner.

Kinlaw at 13 or Blacklock at 31. I would happily take Blacklock and draft Jeudy at 13.
Really like Blacklock's game. Watch what he did to Baylor, ruined that game for them

Btw since the hot/cold concerns were brought up I feel that's a lot more common with interior guys than not. Usually it's rare to find elite talent guys who have a non stop motor...they usually go pretty early.
Chris Jones fell due to motor concerns and some other stuff. He's made the Chiefs look pretty smart for grabbing him.
Obviously if you're looking for a guy who can stop a running game in its tracks Kinlaw may not be that guy but if you get enough key plays out of him like KC did with Jones it can certainly be worth it.
Having said that he would not be my choice. I wouldn't hate the pick but I'd probably go through numerous other scenarios before I'd go with him at 13.

Not a fan of replacing one of the best 3 tech's in the game with another DT, let alone a rookie. Makes no sense, especially since there were other routes we could have gone to keep Buckner at least for two more years with the last year of his contract and the franchise tag.
